Which one of AFI's top ten sports movies of all-time is the best, or your favorite?

From that poll, Raging Bull. The Set Up, Requiem for a Heavyweight and Fat City are also superb boxing films. This Sporting Life and The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner are better than anything on that AFI list other than Raging Bull or The Hustler.

It still cracks me up how the two most memorable sports movies ever made come from the most despised sport.

Raging Bull is easily my favorite, and dare I say the best of the films listed.

Oh... and nice list NoirFan.

No Major League or White Men Can't Jump?

While my favorite is Rocky...Raging Bull is the better film.

My favorite sports movie was a TV movie -

Fighting Back: The Rocky Bleier Story

Robert Urich as Rocky Bleier, Art Carney as Art Rooney, and Richard Herd as Chuck Noll. Bonnie Bedelia is in it as Rocky's love interest. It's a really solid cast, and it's a great story. Very made for TV in style, but it fits the era perfectly.

I wouldn't say it's the best sports movie, but it is my favorite.

From the list above I'd probably pick Rocky.

My favorite sports movie - Field of Dreams - didn't even make the list.

I therefore voted for Rocky.

The Natural should have been on there too, BTW.

"Rocky." You can't help but love Rocky and Adrian. Mickey, Apollo, and Paulie are cool too.

Raging Bull and The Hustler from that list. I have always hated Rocky-just a rip off of Somebody Up There Likes Me.

I see more similarities to Rocky II.

Rocky is a GREAT "small" movie, but agreeing with NoirFan Raging Bull and The Hustler are tops, probably the latter for me. Have to check out some of the ones you mentioned.

I know Im the only one that voted, But i love Bull Durham, I can watch that movie every time it is on, and it is very quoatable...maybe some of the othes are more "powerful" or "moving," and i think Bull Durham takes a hit b/c it is more comedic than dramatic, but IMO, that's my favorite on the list...

While I like all of the movies listed; Rocky, Raging Bull, and Caddyshack (for nothing to do with sports) I actually enjoy watching multiple times.

Movies I "enjoy" more than any on that list would be Field of Dreams, Rudy, and maybe Cinderella Man. I'm also a big fan of Million Dollar Baby (but certainly not better than Rocky or Raging Bull).

A special nomination goes to The Scout for being my favorite bad sports movie guilty pleasure. I think I've seen it at least 20 times.

I love The Hustler, but pool is a sport?

Anyway, Rocky is one of my favorite all time flicks.

I voted for Caddyshack, not for the sporting elements of it, but because it one of the few perfect comedies of our time starring several comedic talents at their peak.
