Thanks for posting.

Can someone answer me this? I've got this on pre-order for $74.95 through Amazon. I know about their pre-order guarantee. My question is should I cancel my order and re-up at the better price, or trust that Amazon's system will automatically catch and release the better price upon shipping?

Danke.

Ordered!

I love and hate you at the same time. My wallet is pissed, but my mind is jumping for joy.

Does anybody know... with pre-orders since they ship it to get to you by release date, is there much of a difference in choosing Standard Shipping over Super Saver Shipping?

I forget, but they don't charge until it ships, right?

Thanks this is cheaper then Family Video who had it for about $64. Hopefully I can get them to cancel my pre-order. I placed an order with Amazon in case the price increases later.

If you have a Bill Me Later account you can use coupon BMLSAVES to knock another $5 off the price.

Not sure if this is really that great of a price. I guess I was hoping for sub $50 pricing.

You figure it to be about 20 bucks a movie which is a fair price for these movies. Especially if the newly restored lives up to the hope and hype I have read. The Die Hard series was going for over 80 when it dropped so I feel that we're getting a good deal here.

I ordered it a few hours back when I first spotted this topic. I just checked. It went BACK to $74.95. What is it with these guys? They lower the price for a couple of hours then back up and then can't do the 30 day price match any more? And I have to pay NYS tax. I also added the BMLSAVES so altogether my price is $58.49.

Emailed FV with a cancellation request and around 15 minutes later received a response that a refund will be issued. It'd sure be nice if the response time from DD was that fast. Or, better yet, if both offered a "Cancel" button like Amazon.

Anyway, glad to get in on this price. Thanks OP.

I also got a quick response from Family Video when I emailed to cancel my order. I wonder how long it will take them to actually issue the refund. I normally don't like to order from companies who charge you for pre-orders before they ship. I don't feel like the order is officially cancelled until I get my money back.

I really thought it would last longer than a few hours...There would have been no harm in just placing the pre-order I suppose. Oh well, I've never seen any of them, but I wanted my first time to be in HD. If it happened once it's bound to happen again aye?

Up to $87.95 now. Gotta love Amazon. Anyway, I ordered this yesterday at the $61.95 price, and canceled my order at Family Video.

Got it with the Bill Me Later discount at the price mention in the first posted. Glad I didn't wait to first cancel my Borders order. Received cancellation e-mail from Borders this morning. All is good. Thanks OP for this great deal. I am sure there will be many deals on this set this season . Remember Black Friday will be here before you know it. For those in the NYC area, the Film Forum is screening the restored first 2 Godfather movies starting today through October 2. My guess is other cities will or have already seen these restored versions.

I missed the deal because i assumed they would price match my pre-order.

I emailed them last night and they fixed it.

Hmmm, the old price was $74.95. It was lowered to $61.95. Then raised to $87.95. The low price was $13.00 less than the original and the new price was $13.00 more. Maybe an order went out to raise the price by $13.00 and it got accidentally lowered by that amount instead.

Anyway, glad I got it at the low price yesterday.

80 something dollars for this set is pushing it. The 60 dollar price range is about right and I'm glad I got in on this deal.
