Goonies and Gremlins on Blu-Ray this year?

Frys.com has both of them up for pre-order. I'm not sure how long they have been up on the website but neither of them show a release date or any other details.

Still, I know these have been rumored for release so if this is confirmation of them coming out I gotta admit I'm pretty excited!

I'd kill for Gremlins and Gremlins 2 in HD. Hopefully it's true.

It's just a matter of time before these -- The Goonies and Gremlins (no Gremlins 2) -- are announced for the US.

I think they're still due in the UK, Germany and France in early-to-late October.

Slightly OT but I wish they still made movies like Gremlins.

Don't filmmakers understand? Kids like to be a little scared, to watch a movie that is a little too "harsh" for them. That's why Gremlins and Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas and all of these movies are great kids movies because they eat that stuff up.

They've been announced for Europe for Oct. 6th, but nothing for Region A yet.

It's wrong. The title has yet to be announced...But it should be in the next week or two along with Gremlins.

Watched the first half of my Goonies UK import last night and was pretty happy with it. Detail was good particularly in the outdoor scenes and facial closeups and the grain seems to be kept intact, in the vein of the Beetlejuice transfer. The TrueHD track was nice and strong when it needed to be though in some scenes the dialogue seemed to be a little low in comparison to the other sounds. I took a peek at the extras and it seems that the video commentary is not on there though they do have it as an audio track. Anyway, I'm happy to have this guy in my collection as it's always been one of my faves.

Re: Goonies and Gremlins on Blu-Ray this year?

WB announced today that Gremlins BD will be released to everyone else on 12/1, glad I didnt buy the Target exclusive. We'll get a better price now that everyone has it.
