Looking For a Smaller LCD HDTV That is 1080p For the Bedroom
I want a smaller LCD HDTV for my bedroom. I want full 1080p, but nothing too big. I saw a 24in Samsung at Costco.com for a little under $500, which seems reasonable. Anyone know anything about that set?
I don't want a piece of crap, either.. also.. with a smaller set, would you notiCE much of a difference between 1080p and 720p?
Anyone have suggestions?

According to CNET, the difference between 1080p and 720p on screens less than 50 inches or so (I think) is impossible to discern. Makes sense, right? How much clearer can such a small image get? Anyway you'll probably get more knowledgeable responses but I would personally not spend the extra $$

Something as small as 24" is a definite waste to get 1080p. You won't see it. I've been doing some research for my own bedroom and while most TV's are 720, the 1080 will really set you back. As was already said, even the 40" range can be tough to discern. I've seen a bunch in the $300 - $400 range that should do the trick.

Personally, the "crossing point" where 1080p becomes useful is with a 40" (diagonal) display. Anything smaller, you can get by with 720p, and anything bigger, you'd be better off with 1080p.
