Just because it's based on a true story doesn't mean it's a historical fact. If it was jfk or the titanic you might have a point, but not a lot of people know this story, it's really not that well known. And that the op notices it's a spoiler and mentions its a spoiler and doesn't spoilerize the text then yeah it is a spoiler. And at the very least spoilerize the text. It's not difficult.

It's not a spoiler. Harvey Milk's assassination was big news and going into the movie knowing about it isn't going to be a problem.

I like the look of the trailer, I'll be interested in how they show SF, I saw some of the stuff from the castro in the media here, when they were filming.

Looks fascinating, and while the subject matter sells me immediately the cast is the main attraction here. Penn? Brolin? Hirsch? Franco? Luna? Sold.
