Do you wear sunglasses at a poker table?
So when is it ok to wear sunglasses at a poker table?
Cash game v. Tourney?
Home Game v. Casino?

I do not wear sunglasses at a poker table. I never have. When we play home games whether they are cash or tourney I laugh at people who show up in sunglasses. And when I sit down in AC at a 1/2 table I actually look for the guys who wear sunglasses and immediately brand them as poor players.

I am not saying any of this is true, but it is a prejudice I have for some reason.

But I will say that casino tourneys are a little different for me. I have never worn sunglasses playing casino tourneys but I may start.

I do wear sunglasses when playing online though. You never know.

Any, what are your feelings on sunglasses?

I have no problem with people wearing sunglasses. If I were ever to do it (which I haven't). It is so people can't see where I'm looking (other players), not because I am afraid I have a tell and will give it away.

Do you wear sunglasses at a poker table? - no, i tried it once and i just dont like it. i feel like its all for an image and doesnt really do shit if you are actually a good player anyways. plus i hate people who wear sunglasses indoors (poker or not - wtf is wrong with these people walking around with glasses on indoors?! there is no sun you idiots!)

So when is it ok to wear sunglasses at a poker table? - if anyone else wants to wear em, go ahead. ill still take their money.

Cash game v. Tourney? - doenst matter to me

Home Game v. Casino? - ive never had any of my friends wear them during a home game

I actually think they should be banned along with all headphones/ipods/etc.

God forbid these fucking douchebags learn some social skills.

I used an iPod ONCE at a poker tourney. We were at the point of moving from betting hundreds to just into a thousand. Blinds were 100/200. At the turn a guy made a bet and said "2" but threw 2000 chips in. I insta-called thinking he was making a minimum bet of 200.

I have never again used an iPod.

I used an ipod once or twice playing limit hold 'em. I felt like a fucking douche so I haven't done it since.

Then again, I'm a chatty type of player who is there to have a good time. I can't stand it when I'm at a table -- a low limit table, no less -- where everyone thinks they're at the final table of the WSOP.

Plus if players are having a good time, they'll start throwing more money into pots as well.

Not only do you throw money into pots, but you throw it at people's heads too!

I always wanted to wear a welder's mask to the table, just to show how ridiculous all such props are.

I wear sunglasses for casino tournies. I used them to hide the fact that i'm looking at you, not really to hide when people are looking at me.

Exactly why I sometimes wear sunglasses when playing against people that I don't know (never at a casino, just home games). It gives off an image. Either the poor players will think I'm some sort of stud because I wear them or better players will think I'm an idiot and poor player. Either way, it gives me an advantage.

When I play friends that I play against often I don't wear them. They know me too well.

exactly. some of my best reads on people are when i am looking at them and they don't know i am.
