Yeah. If you try to grab this deal and you're not a legit student, it *would* be a steal! ;)

Many employers have signed-up for Microsoft's Home Use Program, which gets you the same thing for $20 (or less) shipped. Right now, I'm holding the keepcase for Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007, which has just about the same Office programs as above, and it cost me $19.95.

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, OneNote, InfoPath and Groove 2007. The only thing this one is lacking is Accounting Express 2008.

I would recommend you check with your employer to see if they're onboard with Microsoft on this. If so, you can legitimately have a copy for your own personal use at home for 1/3 the price.

kenbuzz, thanks for the heads up. I don't think my company is signed up for this but I'm going to ask around and see if any of my contacts have this program with their company.

$20.00, man thats a hot price. If you have any extra copy for sale, let me know. I don't need the box. The discs and key-code would be fine.

Both of these would be illegal under the license terms. This offer is only valid for employees of participating companies. And DVDTalk does not condone discussion of illegal activities.

BTW kenbuzz, thanks for the heads-up. I checked and my firm is part of this program, so I can get a cheap update of Office for working off-line at home. (Citrix sucks!)

[howwon, wanna buy a copy of Office cheap? j/k! ;) ]

If I know someone who is a current student, would it be a violation of the license to have them purchase this and then buy it off them in return?

when you put it like that... yes.

Yes. These MS special license deals are very explicit about being non-transferable, and about requiring you personally to actually have the status which qualifies you for the deal.

The US Military also has the same deal on Office for $20 bucks.
