Madden 09 for originial XBOX!

look at this guys:

http://www.amazon.com/Madden-NFL-09-...9020967&sr=1-2

I thought they stopped making games for the XBOX???

That would be cool if it sold well and Microsoft started releasing new XBOX games. I think they abandoned the system way too early.

Knowing EA, I wouldn't be surprised to see a PS1 and Dreamcast version as well.

Well, they never supported the Dreamcast while it was a viable console, so I'm not sure anything would change now (although they do need every penny they can get with the 1 billion dollar exclusive license and all).

They were still making it for the PlayStation for a while:

The Xbox version was always the one I liked most during that gen so I may hunt this down if it is cheap enough. I have no interest in paying $60 for a PS3 version. Madden has become so overcomplicated in recent years that I find no enjoyment in playing it. Maybe the Xbox version will be more to my liking.

I read a review on this the other day said it was pretty good. It did mention why they made it but I don't remember why.

It's probably because it continues to sell well enough, and it's easy to produce. At this point they're not improving the game engine. The attention put into it is nowhere near what the current-gen editions get. They're still doing it for the PS2 anyway, and some of the work on implementing the new features on that version can carry over to the Xbox version.

This will probably be the last year for the Xbox, but I could see it coming for the PS2 for another year or two.

It apparently sold around 30,000 copies this week. By comparison, the PS2 version sold 256k and the 360 version around 710k.

I wonder how many of those were accidents, people thinking it was the 360 version.

I have the 360 version, and while it is an amazing combination of amazingness and suckage, I am under the impression the XBOX is the best version out.

I'm a firm believer that "new and improved" and "current gen" equals "mediocre" when it comes to sports games.

When I want to play hockey or football on the TV, I pull out my Genesis.

My friends and I loved that!

I miss the days when I had neighborhood friends available for gaming any day of the week. Everyone's grown up and married now. In a few years I'll be able to play with their kids I guess...

What the hell is EA waiting for? I would buy Mutant League Football on VC/PSN/Live Arcade in a heartbeat. I never got to try Hockey but would do the same based on principle alone.

Man, I don't know. I've been clamoring for it forever. Back when the Wii was announced to have Genesis VC support. Of course, back then I had no 360 and dreams that Nintendo would implement online multiplayer in their emulator like all the homebrew ones already do.

EA needs to seriously update this for XBLA/PSN. They actually put one of them on a PSP compilation so it isn't completely forgotten.

So I can be lazy, which comp? I may look in to buying this since it can't be more than $20.

I would say no, BUT, if you find there are other titles you are interested in as well... different story.

Thanks pinata.
