sony and century fox are using slipsleeves were the barcode is cut out almost at the top, leaving only a small strip of cardboard at the top.
this small strip is easily damaged and sometimes when handled rougher, even torn off.
why cant these labels have better barcode areas cut out like universal or weinstein??
do you people feel the same way, have you had slipsleeves by sony or fox torn?

Its an advantage to me. One example was the Grindhouse steelbook, it didnt came with a slipcase, so I just pulled he slipcase from the regular 2disc set wuth no hassle and cool slipcase.

Another advantage.. When you do not like the movie, but the slipcase was cool.. Just return the DVD movie without the slipcase and not only you get a full refund but also got yourself a free slipcase.

I think it depends to the owner/collector how he handles & values the slipcase.

I got slipcase like that but its in my possession for yars and yet they are still in excellent pristine condition.

Just an advise.. dont look at possible disadvantages... always look at the opportunity.

My main gripe with slipcovers is when I pull the store's price stickers off, a lot of times it leaves either a bunch of sticky junk, comes off in pieces, or peels part of the picture off altogether. They either need to shrinkwrap in the slipcover or use different stickers in the stores(most of the studio stickers come off no problem).

shrinkwrapping in the slipcover is something i've seen quite a few times. the only potential downside of that is that sometimes the shrinkwrap is so tight that it damages/bends the slipcover at the top as well.
