Worst John Carpenter picture
ESCAPE FROM LA, mostly because of its wasted potential. I understand that even the original film had a huge satirical slant, but the awful sequel went into full-on farce.
Blecch.

Escape from L.A., easily. It's the exact same film, just with different cast members and a much weaker premise. Once Snake started surfing I sunk into my theater seat with embarassment.

I voted Vampire$ since he butchered the original material so much so the author has said there is a good chance you will never see another piece of his material made into film as a result of the movie.

People really look at Christine as one of Carpenter's worst movies? I loved the Stephen King novel, as well as the movie.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... What's up with the hate for Prince of Darkness going on in here? I find it to not only be Carpenter's most underrated film, but also one of the most underrated horror films ever. It's incredibly creepy, very atmospheric, features some great performances and has the ultimate villain taking on numerous forms. I love it.

As sappy as Starman is and as average as Prince of Darkness and Christine are, they are absolute masterpieces compared to Ghosts of Mars, Escape from LA or Vampires. What's with the inclusion of Dark Star? For a low budget, debut feature that started off as a student film, one could do a hell of a lot worse.
