I know we had a lot of fun last time around and there were some who missed out on the action that would play this time around.
Anyway, can anybody set up a tournament, or are there rules before setting up one? (ie, played on the site for so long)
I'm about to head out to work, but wanted to at least post a reminder, so maybe someone could do the honors of setting up one like last time.
To whoever does, thank you!
I aim to go one better than my 2nd place finish last time around

Funny guy eh, but at least your preparing for it. I figured out my problem why I donked out so early, it was because I was sober. I plan on drinking a few beers and play my usual game.
Usually I lay those Johnny's down preflop. Dont know what I was thinking. I will at least finish in the money this time regardless of how many people are entered.

Had fun last night guys, and that had to be the longest bubble ever. Just read thru the last hand and that was a tough beat - both you guys had ideal hands to go all in pre-flop.
Seems like KQ and A10 were dealt pretty often last night and I was getting dealt pocket Q's more than ever, just not when it counted.
Might have to wait 3 weeks for the next game since 2 weeks puts it on Labor Day, unless that's not a problem, or we move it to a different night that week.
Oh, and would it make any difference if we moved the game forward an hour? I know if it runs late, people get tired. Just a thought - doesn't really matter to me

If there is any hole in my game, it is how to play Aces. No matter what I do, I never seem to play them right. Ah well.
Nice hand element. At least I felt ok losing that hand I guess.

You were in an interesting dillema there. I called the raise since I was in the Big Blind (nobody else to act behind me PF), the short stack went all in, and KQ isn't horrible in that spot. I expected you and I just to check it down to eliminate 'Prey4Death'. I ended up getting a free card for the turn which completed my straight and then you bet out. And well, I sure wasnt' going to fold it.
Only other option I think you had was to raise PF instead of just call the all-in to isolate. I think that would have been the most optimal play.

Giving you the free card was my biggest problem. I wanted you in the hand, as I considered it a heads up, and wasn't worried about the all in.
If there would have been a flush draw, I would have pushed harder on the flop. I wanted you to catch up, but not pass me. :) I still had 30% to fill up on the river too. Ah well.
Next time.
I agree with the 3 weeks thing, Labor Day will be out for me most likely.

Not sure why you thought this -- this type of play is typically reserved to move up money spots, not when you're still early in the tournament.

I think either play is fine -- you'll often see both. Sometimes you even see a guy call a small all-in with aces only to have someone behind the aces try a squeeze play and shove with a hand that the AA crushes.
The mistake was slowplaying on a very draw-heavy board. KT, KQ, and spades all have draws on that flop that are going to stack him if they come in. And, well, one did.

FWIW, I think if the board was rainbow, I probably would have checked through as well. The spades make it so there's 9 really ugly cards (spades) you don't want to see on the turn in addition to 6 possibly ugly cards (non-spade Ts and Qs).
What a gross hand nonetheless.
