Some notes (if you're willing to wait for other Mill Creek sales for the larger movie packs):

Alfred Hitchcock - The Legend Continues: everything is also in Legends of Suspense which has an extra title.

Beyond the Grave, Comedy Kings, Family, Gangsters, Great Battles of World War II, Great WWII Campaigns, Hollywood Goes to War, Monsters, Musicals, Vampires & More!: Everything's in the 50/100/250-packs.

Alien Worlds and Apocalypse: 19 of the 20 titles are in the 50/100/250-packs. The remaining title is Battle of the Worlds, available separately in a 4-pack.

Burnt Rubber: 14 titles are in other Mill Creek sets. The remaining 5 titles are Bail Out, The Big Wheel, The Fast and the Furious, In Hot Pursuit and The Wild Ride.

Combat: 18 of 20 titles are in the 50/100/250-packs. The remaining two, Convoy and Four in a Jeep, are in the Mission Victory 10-pack.

The John Wayne sets are in The Ultimate John Wayne Collection.

Cult Classics: 19 of 20 titles are unique to this Mill Creek set.

Roy Rogers: 15 titles are in other sets. The remaining ones are The Arizona Kid, Bells of Rosarita, Hands across the Border, Heldorado, and Robin Hood of the Pecos.

Strange Tales: Everything but War of the Monsters is in other sets.

I've heard a few people say that their Sherlock Holmes sets were defective. If anyone here owns it could you please share your playback experience? I haven't seen the show yet but I'd kind of like to order it provided I won't have a problem.

Any word on quality, specifically in the 20 pack sets? I mean, I'm sure they're not great, but hopefully they're not terrible. Anybody know?

They're what you'd expect for 21 cents per movie.

Fully restored picture, original and enhanced soundtracks, original trailers, multiple commentaries, plus web content?

(I expect a LOT for 21 cents!)

On the plus side, you do get to see the Mill Creek logo every 10-12 minutes, in case you forgot who packaged the movies.

Thumbs up for the docubox "Cold War Hysteria"....three discs of training films, public service announcements, once-classified atomic weapons test summaries and "Duck & Cover" stuff. Like: "About Fallout", "Target: You!", "This Is Not a Test", "Occupying a Public Shelter" and my fave "You Can Beat the A-Bomb."

Others worth $4.14:

John Wayne 20 Movie Pack (Mostly his Lone Star period)
Cult Classics
Fun With Ozzie & Harriet (38 episodes including some original commercials by the family, ie; Kodak. There is a bigger set offered by MC.)
Sherlock Holmes
Robin Hood

I don't recommend "Best of One Step Beyond" because of poor print quality and, at least in my case, playability issues.

The Hitch box is incorrectly titled. It's actually "Alfred Hitchcock: The Legend Begins".

I was wondering if that logo came up on every set. The one set I have it does show the logo crap and that has turned me off to buying any more. I'd love to order other sets, but "logo crap during movies = no sale" for me.

Has anyone seen the Disappearing Frontier set? I can't find any review of the DVD or even the show itself.

I second that - the 3-disc Korean War is also a good value.

^"The Adventures of Robin Hood" is surprisingly good quality, especially considering the age of the product and the typical quality of the Mill Creek PD movie collections. The audio/visual quality is variable from what appears to have been several different source materials but all of the episodes are watchable. I got mine for $5 from amazon several months back and consider that an excellent price for the product. It's an even better deal with the B1G1 at DD. Plus it's a very fun series.

I also do not remember seeing any "bugs" appear at any point in any of the episodes.

I've not seen the others you mention.

No. I don't recall seeing it on "The Adventures of Robin Hood" set. I'm usually pretty annoyed by this crap and will notice when one appears. I have several of the others that I've not watched yet so I may have to check 'em out and post what I find.

Beyond Reality wasn't my cup of tea... but if the concept appeals to anyone, it's not a terrible show. For $4.xx, it's likely worth a blind buy:
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0101046/

As I recall, the quality of the set is pretty darn decent for Mill Creek.

I received the four titles I ordered, and have had an opportunity to sample three of them. So far, no Mill Creek logos showing up on Cold War Hysteria, Sherlock Holmes or Hollywood Goes To War.

Did the sherlock Holmes one play after the first episode? Some people on amazon said that the set was defective after the first episode.
