Need help with a new TV
Just as the title says, I'm looking for a bit of help picking a new TV. It's for my room at this point in time, but will eventually be my primary TV when I get my own place. Currently there's a 55" 720p JVC in the living room.
Now my biggest question concerns some of the off brand TVs that you see, primarily Dynex and Insignia. Can anyone recommend those, or am I better off completely avoiding them? They're tempting since I can get extra features and a few extra inches for the same price. If the picture quality sucks it's not worth it though.
A couple I've had my eye on at Best Buy are a 32" Panasonic (TC-32LX85) and a 32" Toshiba (32AV500U). I am open to other suggestions though.
I guess I should explain what I'm looking for too. My budget is around $600 to $800 dollars and I'd prefer to get it at Best Buy because I have around $100 in gift cards and reward certificates saved up. I'm looking for something 32" or larger. I'm fine with 720p because I've never had any issues with it on the big TV, and 1080p is really out of my price range anyway. I'd like at least 2 HDMI inputs (DVD and DirecTV box), 3 would be nice though just to leave room if I ever get a 360 or anything but it's not a requirement. I know it's an odd request, but I do need a composite input still and I've seen a few TVs without them. I'll be adding external audio eventually, but for now I'll be using the TV audio only so that needs to be decent enough to live with. I think that pretty well covers everything.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. This is a bit of a daunting task.
