Shia LaBeouf arrested for DUI, injured.
When will they ever learn?
'Indiana Jones' star LeBeouf arrested for DUI
By Associated Press43 minutes ago
- LOS ANGELES (AP) "Indiana Jones" co-star Shia LaBeouf was arrested for drunk driving Sunday after an early morning car accident in which he was injured, police said.
LaBeouf was the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a 3 a.m. collision in Hollywood, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. S. Wolf said.
"It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest," Wolf said.
LaBeouf and his passenger were injured, as was the other driver. Wolf said he didn't know the extent of their injuries.
Wolf said he didn't know if LaBeouf, 22, would face felony or misdemeanor charges.
LaBeouf has been working as an actor for 10 years. He starred on the Disney Channel series "Even Stevens," starred in last year's "Transformers: The Game," and this year appears opposite Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
In November, he was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing after a drunken tirade in a Chicago Walgreens.
He later told David Letterman on the "Late Show": "Drinking and driving is one thing, but drinking and shopping ... it's just as bad."
Prosecutors dropped charges because Walgreens Co. and a security company indicated they didn't want to continue the case.
Two of LaBeouf's publicists did not immediately return calls seeking comment Sunday. Neither did attorney Michael Norris, who has previously represented LaBeouf.

Wow that's lame. Shia, you seem like a cool kid. Why go down this path of stupidity when you have a potentially long career ahead of you?

Of course any normal person gets arrested for drunk driving and crashing their vehicle would indeed get time in jail and their license revoked for over a year, possibly more.
Him being a celebrity, he'll get off with a slap on the wrist.

everyone doesn't get caught per se, but everybody does it. Normally they don't flip their trucks.
Just til they post bail. He really isn't getting off that clean, and he'll get sued by the driver of the other car... unless they were drunk too.

I've never gotten a DUI. I'm not 'sticking up' for people who get DUI arrests.
How many people drive drunk? Isn't there some statistic that shows 75% of drivers on the road after midnight [on Friday and Saturday] are DUI or DWI? How many people got arrested Saturday evening / Sunday morning for DUI in LA?
He's only a celebrity.

Oh good...maybe that will keep him out of movie franchises for awhile.

DUI is attempted manslaughter, plain and simple. Punishment for even first time offenders should be so severe that it should discourage further stupidity.
I'd say 500 hours of community service, a fine to offset the legal/enforcement costs, and losing your driving privileges for at least six months.

Did Shia get in trouble before when he was intoxicated? Tresspassing at a Walgreens or something like that?
At least this should put an end to Spielberg's constant "he's a great kid" rants every time he talks about LaBeouf.

I have never driven drunk but I would bet that people who text while driving or watch movies while driving are just as big of a risk. What I don't get is the celebrities that could afford to be driven around get busted all the time. If I had the money I would have a driver for when I went out.

Regarding the personal driver, I will never figure that one out. You'd think every celebrity who drinks would have one.

But I'm good with your punishment. I would not be that lean on an attempted murderer however.
