Yeah, that's a shame but not really a surprise.

It's in good dud company along with The Andromeda Strain (2008) (TV), Tin Man, and lack of The Wire.

I actually like all the "Outstanding Drama/Comedy" nominees except for one, though Boston Legal lost some luster (I still enjoy it). Two and a Half Men? Really? Why... Good to see Lost back at the top.

From the look of the nominations, the Emmy voters don't go off what gets submitted, they vote on what they've watched over the course of the year. Thankfully I'm apparently a critic whore and watch many of the same shows. I think Damages has a good chance of taking Drama (season 1 was like crack, despite some convoluted bits) with The Office or 30 Rock winning Best Comedy.

Kind of bland and predictable overall.

Outstanding Miniseries

"Tin Man" (2007)
What the hell? The "Extras" special was a masterpiece compared to this.

Boston Legal again. I assume they submitted the SCt episode for review (at least for the series and Spader)?

Great to see Mad Men and Damages get the recognition they richly deserve in the series and acting categories. Same with John Adams and Recount.

Good to see John Adams get a lot of nominations. Although I think Zeljko Ivanek (Dickinson) deserved a supporting nod over David Morse (Washington). I hope Stephen Dillane wins the award in this category.

I agree with all this (except I don't know what the SCt episode of BL is -- I stopped watching after the strike)

The lack of The Wire is really shocking. I know the voters watch HBO, so that can't be it.

I was a HUGE Extras fan and I'm shocked by the noms. It was a big "Fuck You!" to the fans of the series; more so than even the Sinefeld or Ellen finales and that's saying something. I guess that's just a weak category.

I'm happy for Lost. Of all the "network" series, comedy or drama, it was the one that was least disrupted by the strike and managed to provide the most satisfactory overall storyline.

The omission of Pushing Dasies from the Best Comedy category is sure a surprise. Does anyone think that 2.5 Men is a better show?

Wow, Damages racked up! Even Ivanek got in - shows that they watched that wonderful show. And is this the first time that a basic cable show has entered the series race (with not one but two shows?) And it's been a while that HBO hasn't been a nominee in this category.

Awesome to also see Michael C. Hall, Dexter and Bryan Cranston get love.

It's basically a half-hour of Alan berating Justice Scalia and the conservative wing of the Court - the kind of stuff Hollywood liberals would love.

Seems odd that it's true. Particularly since Nip/Tuck and The Shield both WON Golden Globes for Best Drama. Hadn't realized neither ever both nominated for an Emmy.

The F/X dramas had gotten some acting noms, but never a series nom - some of the most glaring mistakes of the Emmys this decade.

Frankly, even with the various Boston Legal noms, this is probably the least objectionable Emmy nomination list I've seen in a long time.

It just occurred to me that Big Love and Flight of the Conchords both got shut out. I'm pretty surprised, those were pretty good seasons.

And Red Dog, my team just won the National Championship and your sig still bugs me. It was the most embarassing loss in school history. Will you EVER change it?

If I went to appalachian state, and put in that ASU beat Michigan, I would never change that.

Obviouslly Bucknell can play with the big boys, but Kansas was one of those 'wins' that you remember for a long time.

I don't get the Emmy nominations. Most nominations are based on single episodes, yet in the 1-hour or greater animation category, South Park's Imagination Land is nominated when this was originally aired as 3 separate parts. Plus Justice League: New Frontier is there too and that was direct to DVD. The only one in that category that really seems to qualify is Family Guy Blue Harvest.

I'd bet it's mainly because her Hillary Clinton impression got some publicity this season. If anyone on SNL should've gotten a nomination, it's Kristen Wiig.

If Recount doesn't win Best Made For TV movie, there should be a recount!

Seriously, that film was good enough for theatrical release.

Glad to see love for Dexter and Pushing Daisies, at least.

And it's hilarious that 'I'm F***ing Matt Damon' is up in the Song category.

The Wire better win the award for writing. I think it is probably the best show I have ever seen. It is shame it did not get a nomination for the series.
