The Closer--Season Premiere--"Controlled Burn"--7/14/08

Photobucket

I was debating whether or not to start an individual episode thread for this. But hell, it's summer and there isn't alot on and this IMO is one of the best summer shows next to Burn Notice. I'm happy to see Brenda Leigh and company back for 15 more episodes.

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

The heat is on in the Season 4 opener when a fire blazes through Griffith Park, threatening vast areas of Los Angeles. As Brenda tries to smoke out any wrongdoers, one of her archenemies---fire-starter Billy Croelick (Jason O'Mara)---enters the picture. In domestic news, Fritz and Brenda's new duplex forbids the presence of pets, but that doesn't stop Brenda from keeping Kitty on the premises.

Good Start except for the Daniesl and Gabreil storyline.

The only thing that bugs me or actually pisses me off is that I don't get the "next on" because I don't Tivo the next show. I am sure that is a TNT thing, but it sucks!!!

Good episode overall. I like that they are trying to redeem Taylor and the way he talked to the reporter was pretty funny.

I actually really like Taylor. There seems to be a sort of respect developing between he and Brenda... but it's always great when the "heel" character gets a chance to do something likeable or noble (stepping up to help Gabriel) as it seems "out of character" for them.

Only Mean Joe Green can chuck a kid a jersey for a coke, you know?

I loved the Jason O'Mara character. It's too bad that he's now on Life on Mars. He would actually make a good nemesis for Brenda.

The scene with the burnt rat and him immitating Brenda was hysterical.

I thought it was a very good episode, very typical solid opener for the show. Yeah, that sucks that TNT wants you to stick around for Saving Grace to catch next week's scenes.

I actually love it! I never want to watch the previews for next week, but I always end up doing it because I'm weak-willed. But even my lack of will-power isn't enough to stomach Saving Grace, so now I can go into next week fresh!

This was the first time I watched this show, and I really like it! I'll stick around for awhile.
