What are your Top 10 BD's (PQ-wise)

Been reading both professional and user reviews, and just wanted your thoughts on what you think the best Blu-Rays are. Pictury quality wise. As a BD newbie, I only own 40 BD's. But have rented many from Netflix. So far, here the Top 10 I think look the best:

1) Crank
2) The Other Boleyn Girl
3) No Country For Old Men
4) Hellboy
5) Layer Cake
6) The Prestige
7) I, Robot
8) Casino Royale
9) There Will Be Blood
10) Kingdom of Heaven

It's been a long time since I tried to make such a list, so many great ones out there... but like you, not a single one from Warner would make my list right now.

Really? Because I would easily put Blade Runner, The Searchers and 2001: A Space Odyssey near the top of my list. Warner may not treat their newer films too well, but they are amazing with catalog titles. Nobody can touch them in that department.

"Blade Runner" is amazing. And would be in my Top 20. I have "2001" coming from Netflix. But I wasn't crazy about "The Shining" PQ. It looked better than the regular DVD, but not great. That's WB, right?

Maybe this thread was a bad idea. I had only planned on renting what everyone listed. But you just posted some titles I already own on regular DVD that I love. I rented "Man on Fire", and I agree the PQ was beautiful. I've yet to see "2001", "Bonnie and Clyde", "The Ruins", "Spider-Man 3", "The Descent" (quite possibly the best scary film in a decade) or "Cast Away" yet on BD. Netflix, here I come....

Black Hawk Down looks great. Despite the intentional grain, which now I kinda see as a rarity.

I have to throw some support to Black Snake Moan which is probably the best Blu-ray release I've ever seen. TMNT looks great too. I may be back with 8 more later...

If you mean solely in video quality, then here is my list. I looked through my DVD Profiler and picked out the ones that I rated the highest video quality of the ones that I've seen. In alphabetical order with two extra.

2. Arthur et les Minimoys
3. Black Book
4. Cars
5. Casino Royale
6. House of Flying Daggers
7. The Lives of Others
8. Michael Clayton
9. Ne le dis a personne
10. The Other Boleyn Girl
11. Ratatouille
12. TMNT

I can't remember it that well, but I have a 5 star rating on the video with that one. Perhaps I'll have to revisit that one in the near future, but I have so much in my unwatched pile to get through!

Where's YOUR list, buddy?!

I really can't come up with a ranking list but the following are stuck in my head as looking pretty darn good:

POTC: DMC
I, Robot
No Country for Old Men
Crank
Planet Earth
Man on Fire
Spider-Man 3
Live Free or Die Hard
Underworld
Prison Break Season 1

Also, for these movies to have so many dark scenes they look great:

AvP 2
Untraceable

I didn't list titles like Cars, Bee Movie, TMNT, Ratatouille etc because they all look great IMO. If you want PQ any of them will do the job.

Oh, if you ever want a PQ list head over here:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=858316

I agree with most of the rankings.

Well since you asked, here goes-

Instead of dittoing the usual suspects(Cars, Ratatouille, POTC), I'll list 10 good ones that haven't been mentioned as yet.

Chronicles of Narnia
Final Fantasy:Spirits Within
Lost Season 3
Paprika
Prison Break Season 1
Road Warrior(the only decent version available on home video)
Shoot 'Em Up
Simpsons Movie
Tekkonkinkreet
30 Days of Night

EDIT: I just noticed that Prison Break Season 1 has already been listed. Replace this title with Appleseed Ex Machina.

I'm surprised that League of Extraordinary Gentlemen doesn't make anyone's top PQ list. Merits of the movie itself notwithstanding, I thought it had excellent PQ....

Just going by what I have watched on Blu so far.

No real order except for the first 2. Here is my top 8

1) I, Robot
2) Ratatouille
3) Gattaca
4) I Know Who Killed Me (Seriously)
5) Shooter
6) Superbad
7) Shoot Em Up
8) Casino Royale

The Other Boleyn Girl would be at least around #10-15. Didn't care for the tint in the picture.

I just watched the mini series The Company. Easily has one of the best PQ I've seen. Every shot is beautiful.
