Rai--region 1 release
Is there any plans to release Rai in region 1? I know this film is not the best foreign film but I have a interest based upon the glimpse it gives into the northern African experiance in the Parisian suburbs. Is there anywhere I could purchase this title in region 2 or pal format?

Alapage is the only vendor that has it in-stock, for a great price.

And no, I have not seen it rumored for a R1 release.

There's also a 2 films boxset on the same theme, Raï/100% arabica for 9.98€.
Don't take these films as documentaries, they're fictionnal, like other films with suburbs theme such as La Haine from Kassowitz or Ma 6-T va craquer from Richet (Assault on Precinct 13), I think the most realistic is maybe the older Le Thé au Harem D'Archimède from Mehdi Charef based on his book.
If you know nothing about Raï music, I suggest you listen to some artists: Khaled , Cheb Mami or Faudel .

Re: Rai--region 1 release
I saw Rai in New York approx 15 years ago and it had English subtitles. I bought the DVD from Amazon.fr a few years ago and it doesn't have English subtitles. Does anyone know if a version with subtitles exist? I've been looking for years now without luck.
