With all these superhero movies coming out, I'm just curious if people have a preference over how they like their "superheroes" - in the movie form, in the cartoon/tv form, in the comic book form? Which interpretation to you enjoy the most?
Batman:
I like Batman the most in Batman Begins (and probably in The Dark Knight), then the comics, and finally in the cartoons.
Superman:
I like him most in the cartoons (Superman Animated, Justice League, Doomsday), then the comics, then in the movies and Smallville.
Spiderman:
I have liked all formats equally - the comic, the movies, and the cartoons (60s cartoon, 90s cartoon, and MTV)
X-Men:
I like the 90s cartoon the most, then the movies, then the comics.
Fantastic Four:
I like the comics the most, then the cartoons (90s cartoon and new French ones), and then the movies.
Daredevil:
I like the movie more than the comics.
Hellboy:
I like the movie (and probably the sequel) more than the comics. (I haven't watched the animated movies yet).
Iron Man:
I like the movie, then the 90s cartoon, then the comics.
Hulk:
I like The Incredible Hulk movie the most, then the comics, then the 90s cartoon, and then the Lou Ferrigno tv show.
Avengers:
I like the comics, then the two animated movies, and then the 90s cartoon.
Blade:
I like the first two movies, then the comic, and then the tv show.
The Flash:
I like his cartoons first (Justice League), then the comics, then the tv show.
The Punisher:
I like his comic first, then his cameos in the 90s cartoons, and then the movies.
Wonder Woman:
I like her in the cartoons first (Superfriends, Justic League), then the comics, and finally in the Linda Carter tv show.

In order of favorite characters:
Batman:
#1-90's animation (Even though I've never been high on Timm's animation style, the scripts and the voices are near perfection)
#2-Movies
#3-Comics (Only the graphic novel versions)
Hulk:
#1-Comics
#2-Movies
#3-TV Show (Good show, aside from the fact that all The Hulk fought was hicks and construction men)
X-Men:
#1-Comics
#2-Movies
#3-Cartoon
I'll add the rest later

The comics are ALWAYS superior to the movies. Every time. Even when they're great films, they fail to capture the sweep that 40, 50, 70 years of comics stories has in defining a character.

Oh, and sorry if this sounds rude, but I have to say:
"Daredevil:
I like the movie more than the comics."
WRONG!

Am I only the one who loves superheroes but doesn't really like reading comics? They are the types of stories that I need to see in motion, whether that be animation or live action.

Good point there. It seemed like every other week David Banner was getting his ass kicked by lumberjacks or construction workers. I think that the writers or producers had something against teamsters.

Movies
Comic Books are a waste of time. I watched cartoons when I was little but I grew out of that. Movies are the way to go.

I loves Superheroes and will take 'em anyway I can get 'em. I'm a regular comic reader but I would also like to see more Big Budget films and regular cartoon series. But then again, getting it "Right" like they did in films like Batman Begins and in cartoons like Justice League seem to be the exception and not the rule so I don't know....

In the Hulk tv show (Ferrigno/Baxby), was there some contract in which the show could not use any other characters from the Marvel universe? I know Thor showed up in one episode...but how come Hulk's famous villains (Leader and Abomination) weren't used in the show?

I thought Bendis version of Daredevil was better than the crap movie they put out.
The Elektra movie was horrible because in the comics she's a killer, the first 5 mins was good showing how awesome of an assassin she is and then the movie goes in a totally different direction.
Batman-90's batman comic books are awesome, but the Chris Nolan movies are just so mind blowing that I am once again enjoying the Batman movie franchise.

How are comic books a waste of time? I don't think there has been a single movie that has improved on a comic book.
However, the Justice League cartoon is the single best comic book adaption if you ask me.
I also really loved the 90s Superman animated series, I think it improved on a lot of the comic story lines.

Printed comic books by a country mile.
And then the finer animated versions. I watched the 90s Batman cartoon a lot. About the only other one I saw more than one episode would be the Justice League, which was well done.
Pretty much the only superhero flick I consider a complete, consistent and coherent movie is Ang Lee's Hulk.

First of all, let me just state that while I enjoy reading comics, the vast majority of superhero comics are - in the words of Jules Feiffer - junk. So it seems to me that the better superhero movies far and away surpassed their four-color counterparts.
There are many, many times when a comic can't be well-translated to film because of the implausibilities of the concept or because of the medium itself. Recognizing that, I believe that the SUPERMAN films (with the exception of III and IV) are far, far better than anything put out in the comics. The early 1940s-970s issues are absolutely ridiculous and incredibly juvenile, and most of what was put out in the seventies and early eighties are equally forgettable.
All three X-MEN films, to me, captured the spirit and fun of the Claremont/Byrne X-MEN comics and I think that they are at least as good as the best issues of that series.
I must be the only one in the world who didn't care for the SPIDER-MAN films (although I thought SPIDEY 3 wasn't that bad), so I prefer the comics overall.
DAREDEVIL was a just okay translation, but I still prefer the comics written by Frank Miller.
I enjoyed BATMAN and BATMAN BEGINS, but the sequels to Burton's work ranged from dull to terrible. I still prefer the comics by Miller and the recent work by Robinson.
I don't care for the FANTASTIC FOUR, and I thought the movies were poor.

Across the board-comics are best, followed by cartoons, then movies.

It's hard to make a comparison from say.. Nolan's Batman Begins to Dini's Batman:TAS and to Miller or Breyfogle's Batman. You have different tones and styles and I don't think a fair comparison can be had unless all of the elements had the same/similar story arc.
I think what Nolan has done with the films is that he's taken some themes from the comics and made them his own.
Whereas you can definately compare Johnson's Daredevil movie to the Miller Daredevil series. Because they cover the same story arc.
