Burn Notice Marathon tomorrow! (7/3/08)

Just a heads-up to anyone interested. USA will be airing the entire first season starting tomorrow at 6:30 am (Eastern time).

I really loved the first season and have been waiting anxiously for this show to return. Jeffrey Donovan is great, and so is the supporting cast.

Season two starts next Thursday!

Thanx for the heads up. I had watched the last 5 episodes of season 1 during these last 2 weeks and now I can catch up with the earlier episodes!

Definitely catch it. The entire first season is also available immediately on hulu.com. Great show. Hope they can maintain what they've started!!!

New episodes start next week!

I hope we get less of the mother and brother this season.

Along those same lines, I could do without the overload on the samba music.

Thanks for the heads-up. We caught an episode last Summer, but were pretty lost in the plot. Really liked what I saw, and will definitely Tivo the marathon tomorrow.

Wha?!?!?! That is totally part of the Miami setting they're in most of the time - South Beach. If you haven't been there, you might not get it, but the music TOTALLY fits.

On second viewing, Sharon Gless didn't bug me as much. Wish I could say the same about the brother. Overall they were used fairly sparingly throughout the first season, and I agree that less of them is more. Since he is still essentially stuck in Miami, we can't expect to get rid of them completely though...

I've been sort of watching this today. Decent fluffy action show.

They say it's a marathon but it's missing the first three episodes which is kind of strange.

We started watching this on reruns, caught the last 1/2 of the first season and love it! It's very Elmore Leonard-ish and reminds me of the short lived (but loved!) Karen Sisco series.

Thanks to the marathon, we were able to watch the pilot and earlier episodes. What's the deal with Gabrielle Anwar's character in the pilot having the Irish accent? Does it just go away eventually or do they write it out?

Saw a snippet or two and it really didn't grab me. Then I decided what the hell and recorded the marathon, and I was hooked from the first episode. I'm beginning episode three now. Really have to finish it because it's taking up a huge amount of space in the DVR. I'll be recording the one tonight! I'll be caught up in a week or two.

I got all 12 episodes from the first season. I coordinated with IMDb to make sure I recorded them all.

She explains this in the beginning of the second episode.

Spoiler:
She wants to stay in Miami for a while and adopts an American accent in order to fit in/not stand out

Her accent was annoying me in the 1st episode, and she IS from Laleham, Middlesex, England. I think they wisely decided to can it so the character could work "under cover" better for Michael.

Thanks for the info on the accent Gator and RF.
I agree. Her accent was driving me nuts as well, especially after seeing ~5 episodes without it.
I wonder if they wrote it out as a result of test audience reactions?

I didn't like it either, since I had seen the last 5 episodes or so. She doesn't do a good Irish accent.
