DVD Talk review of 'The Andromeda Strain Miniseries'
I read David Cornelius's DVD review of The Andromeda Strain Miniseries at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=33753 and...
I too was frustrated by all the loose ends, but to me it looks more like they were trying to launch a series based on the movie. In other words, the loose ends were deliberate. If there's an audience, they'll move to develop the ideas, if not, well, then it's just another exercise in frustration. Nothing on A&E's website about that possibility as of a week or so ago, but I wouldn't rule it out, perhaps another movie special or two, wherein the possibilities of the future trying to reshape the past is explored. Those undersea explorations seem to be critical to this future development of the plot.

Hmm. Never heard anything about a series, but given some of the miniseries' more obscure loose ends (especially that one unexplained crucial conspiracy-centric scene in the epilogue), that would make perfect sense, and it would help alleviate many of the miniseries' problems. Sadly, though, since we've not heard series news yet, I'd guess that the filmmakers weren't setting up anything, and that the show was just a victim of sloppy writing.
