This is probably your best bet for imports. I've ordered from them many times.

So what are some good imports to play? Doesn't matter what type of game (action, rpg, puzzle) I'm open to whatever.

I've seen a lot of UK PSP game listings say Region 2. Is that really true that I could not play UK games on my american PSP?

If you're a fast of classic side-scrolling shooters, you can't go wrong with Parodius Portable or Salamander Portable. These two are my favorite PSP import titles (they've only been released in Japan) and they've both been re-released at a cheaper price.
The two DJ Max Portable titles from Korea are also very good, but the learning curve is pretty steep if you're not that familiar with rhythm action games.

All PSP games are reigon-free and can play on any PSP. The UMDs (movies on disc) are reigon-specific.

Seriously? I ordered from them once and it was the worst retail experience I've ever had. I emailed them to make sure they had a GBA game I wanted in stock and they said they did. So I ordered it from them...and they didn't have it in stock. So they said they would track it down. After waiting a while I emailed them multiple times trying to cancel my order and when they finally responded it was to tell me that they had sent the game about a month after I originally placed my order. When I got the game the box looked like it had been stomped on. It took another month of waiting and a bunch more emails before I got a refund.

Well, to be fair, I've only ordered from them once online. The actual physical stores in HI are awesome (the Kaimuki store is the location where Jin bought the stuffed panda in the most recent season of Lost). The stores are great and I respect the independant toy store -- it's really a dying breed. But I can't say that I have a great knowledge of their online sales; I just know they stock import games and cool figures and such.

Toys n Joys is a great place to visit in person, but I've heard many horror stories about online ordering... mostly for collectible items, though, not video games.
Unfortunately, it looks like Fry's has stopped importing PSP and DS games... they clearanced the rest of them out a while ago.
There are at least a few RPGs that came out in the UK but not in the US:
Tales of Eternia
Breath of Fire III
which are both in English. I'm not sure how they would hold up now that there's a glut of JRPGs on the PSP, but they were decent when they came out. Unfortunately, the only other import PSP games I have are games that I'm more a fan of the license than the actual game (I love the Gundam and Super Robot Wars games, for instance).

Some of my favorites have been the Gundam series as well as the Ultraman psp released some time ago. I did get Monster Hunter G and have had a fair bit of difficulty given that everything is in Japanese (which was expected).
