HDDVD's 8.99 at Christmas Tree Shops

Christmas Tree Shops has a huge shipment of HD DVDs for $8.99 each, looks like a lot of Universal titles.

Some titles I remember seeing:

Ray
The Mummy
Apollo 13
Casino

Too bad there is no Christmas Tree Shops near me... oh well.

Hopefully some other stores start getting discount HD-DVD's.

This raises hope of other discount retailers getting them, like Big Lots and Dollar General...

They are mostly a New England based chain. I don't think there are any locations outside of New England.

They don't sell online as far as I know. They are a close outs business so inventory varies by location. They actually usually have some really good DVD deals. I've picked up a lot of TV Series box sets for 6.99, almost all the Ink and Paint releases (Isis, Groovie Ghoulies, Hero High, Ghostbusters, Cool McCool), a couple of seasons of Highway to Heaven for $3.99 (that I traded in at FYE for a lot more than that)

Folks, you're not missing much of anything. Just checked my store and it had about 15 different titles (The Sting, Casino, The Jerk, King Kong, etc, etc). There was one of each copy and basically you could get these cheaper at the inetvideo.com $5.99 sale.

Let's hope these drop further in price and Warner starts dumping their stuff.....

inetvideo's shipping really kills the deal if you only want one or two discs.

I'd be all over this, except the christmas tree shops don't open around here until late November or early December.

Checked the one in Avon, MA and they had nothing displayed. Although this is one of those stores where you will find something you want when you are NOT looking for it. There is crap everywhere with no rhyme or reason.

Most of the ones I saw were bi-lingual. They had:
Out Of Sight
The Jerk
Carlito's Way
Bruce Almighty
Inside Man
The Getaway
Meet Joe Black
Midnight Run
The Nutty Professor
Friday Night Lights
