GameStop buy 2 get 3 free sale

It's harder and harder to find a GameStop that carries DVD's nowadays but two of my local stores still have them and they are having a buy 2 get 3 sale on all DVD's.
I was able to score:
Scrubs season 1, 2, 3, Alias season 3, Sanford and Son season 6 for $39.98 + tax.

Battle of the Planets vol. 6, Casino Royale(Sellers), The Bounty, Drawing Flies(View Askew) and Girlfight(WS (finally!)) for $11.98 + tax.

Terror Firmer 2-disc(Troma), Albino Alligator, Washington Square(J. J. Leigh), Romeo Must Die/Cradle 2 the Grave (double feature) and The Myth(Jackie Chan) for $3.98 + tax

You are lucky indeed. Gamestop has stopped carrying used dvds so there are only a few stores around that have some inventory. Makes me sad.

Only two stores close to me still have DVDs and their stock is shrinking by the day. I'm not pleased because how many stores need 80 bajillion copies of Madden or other used and outdated sports games. Come on, Gamestop. At least if you're gonna phase out DVDs, open up some more Moviestops.

I can see why they were phasing out the DVD's with all of the apparent stolen one's that were getting traded in, but if they just give store credit, that seems like it would cut down or eliminate that sort of thing.

Yeah you did get really luck OP. My gamestop has about 40-50 movies left, only a handful I'm interested, but they're STILL too pricey for me. And the only tv seasons they had were South Park S10 (for a stunningly cheap 34.99 - geesh) and Pimp My Ride S1 (totally wanted it, but sadly had to pass it up.

in my area the dvd stock is very picked clean, and there is not enough influx of hot merchandise to make finding 5 viable titles possible. Nice haul OP.

I've been hesitant to mention this, but the store near me - sorry, keeping it a secret for reasons you'll understand - has a massive selection of Blu-rays which they say were traded-in. With this B2G3 deal, I've bought 10 movies for ~$68 INCLUDING tax after using my Edge card.

They had like 180-200 titles to choose from, but none of them had cases - all came in plain disc sleeves. Huh? I went to a couple other stores and they had NOTHING like this and said they never heard of such a thing. I asked today and they just said they get a lot of trade-ins. My buddy, who tipped me off to this deal, is cagey, too, and of the mind that as long as we're making out, who cares where they came from? These aren't even on the shelves - I had to have them print out the stock list and I picked off of that.

I dunno if this place is a fencing operation or what, but I got Terminator 2, National Treasure 2, I Am Legend, Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem, 30 Days of Night, Apocalypto, Live Free or Die Hard, X-Men: The Last Stand, Across the Universe, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Very strange.

All of the stores around here still have DVD's left, but I haven't been able to find two I want, much less five, at any given store.

I stopped in at 1 in Grand Rapids and they had Season 2,3 and 4 of The Shield for $20 each. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything else that I wanted. Oh well.

My local store now has buy 2 get 4 free. Alas, the stock hasn't been changing enough for me to find 6 titles that I want but there was a decent selection with a few blu-rays to boot.

You really have to go dumpster diving now to come up with something good at Gamestop with dvds. The ones I see on the shelf are so beat up. They want 33 bucks used for a tattered copy of Smallville. No thanks. lol

I sure miss the good ole days when they had tons of boxsets.

That's a bad sign. They'll stop selling DVDs in that store soon.

Stopped in one to see if they would take some dvds/video games...they had buy 2 get 4 free..could not find anything worth picking up for that..also thanked them for the generous offer of mostly 25 cents in "credit" each for my dvd movies but had to decline.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. We have 3 stores in this area and the new one they recently opened doesn't carry them at all. Their filing system is terrible and if there's any kind of foot traffic in the store, you have to anticipate a 10-15 minute wait while they look through their drawers for the titles that you're buying.

I agree that those wire racks are murder on a box set and you have to be pretty lucky to find one in good shape. They actually had a bunch of One Tree Hill and other things that I'm sure would make someone happy but I'm more of a CSI guy.
