DVD Talk review of 'Dirty Harry'
I read Kurt Dahlke's DVD review of Dirty Harry at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=33441 and...very nice read Kurt. really surprised it got the highest rating and makes me kinda regret getting the 1-disc, though i didn't know it was 1-disc at first.
My question is: is the 2nd disc of extras worth it? how long is "Clint Eastwood: The Man From Malpaso" featurette and is it just the two extra featurettes that would be the difference with the 1-disc?

Thanks Scott, I thought I had included the length of Man From Malpaso in the review, I will correct that. Malpaso is 58 minutes long, so together with the other all new featurette at about 30 minutes, you have approximately 90 minutes of additional extras not included on disc one. Those are the only two extras on disc two, however.
In terms of this being in the Collector's Series, it might be considered a partial double-dip, but with the new commentary etc. it certainly should be a part of any cinephile's collection. At $14.95 through Amazon, it seems affordable enough ...

But more important is Siegel's leisurely efficiency. Known as a director who could get things done at speed, Siegel nonetheless sees the value in letting Callahan take his time in Dirty Harry. On the way to his suicide rescue, we see Callahan slowly rise up each and every floor in his cherry picker, with nothing else at all going on save the establishing of his singular confidence.

Good to know! I hear Eastwood's a pretty good director, too ...
