A minor nitpick, but it's BBC's Secret Diary of a Call Girl; Showtime is just importing it. And the season as a whole is pretty tame if you're looking for sex/nudity; it's a decent way to kill time otherwise.

First episode was pretty good. I expect every rule she has to eventually be broken, and I'm sure her parents will eventually find out. Makes for good drama.

And for Californication, they started shooting S2 last month, so I would imagine it would start to air in August/September.

I liked the show. Billie Piper is excellent in her role and I like the relationship she has with her best friend Ben. Her reaction shots toward the camera whenever she has a unusual experience or request from a client crack me up every time.
One thing to keep in mind while watching is that in the UK, prostitution (the actual buying and selling) is not against the law.
I've already seen the entire first season. Without spoiling anything, I think episode two is the weakest of the eight. Don't give up on the show too soon, the episodes after that are definitely worth watching.

Since I don't have Showtime I'll definitely check it out since it's free. I had heard some radio spots/interviews for this and (when it originally aired) and they all seemed to indicate it was good and well received.

I just juggled my premiums around to add Showtime specifically for this and P&T Bullshit.
Watched the premiere on Monday. The lead is very hot. I enjoyed it, although I wasn't expecting it to be so short. 22 minutes fly by when you don't have to hit commercial skip. I also though British shows tended to be longer than typical American shows.

So will ITV2 be releasing the DVD set in the US or Showtime? I love Billie Piper, but if I'm not getting Showtime for Weeds which I love, I'm certainly not getting it just for this 8 episode run!

Episode 2 is definitely the weakest. It really improves with each episode. I look forward to season 2.

I don't think Billie Piper will ever be a Hollywood A-Lister, but lots of A-listers have done nudity before they became famous. Like that one flick with Katherine Heigl and Jessica Alba. Wowzers!
