Whats the story on those horror movie packs? they are all listed as FULLSCREEN. Is that true?? Are any of them worth picking up for the $6?

I've heard almost nothing good about those $6 packs. There are indeed public domain properties that were produced in the past few years. It's not like you're gettting some classic films for pennies. I say skip them.
I have the 50-pack Dark Crimes collection. I haven't watched much of it yet, but if you keep your expectations low in terms of picture/sound quality, some of those collections might be of interest for you. They're hit and miss, but not a complete waste of time.

More than a few of the Mill Creek TV box sets that are currently $8 at the DD sale can be found for $5 at Walmart.
Some of their Classic TV sets - like the Best of Jack Benny - really aren't that bad (considering the materials they had to work with) and even better and more complete than some of the other PD sets floating around out there.

The worst thing about Mill Creek is not the pic/sound quality, it's the obnoxious Mill Creek watermark that pops up onscreen every 10-12 minutes and hangs there about 20 seconds. It is not on some of the earlier 50-packs like Horror, SciFi, Mystery classics but anything they've released the last few years has been watermarked to death. AFAIK, all the 20-packs are watermarked.

These titles were recently on sale for up to 67% off but an extra 20% off is around the corner.

I'm a fan of the horror and sci-fi packs. They have a few gems and plenty of duds but the latter can be fun nevertheless.
The packs of other genres include movies that air on Turner Classic Movies. For example, the Family Classics 50 Movie Pack includes Captain Kidd, A Farewell to Arms, Gulliver's Travels, The Inspector General, The Iron Mask, Jane Eyre, Royal Wedding and A Star Is Born.

Check your local Big Lots and WM first as lots of these turn up there regularly for $5-$6. WM usually has the TV type stuff ("Hitchcock", "John Wayne 20 movie pack", "Robin Hood", "Victory at Sea", "Lucy", "Rin Tin Tin", and "Cisco Kid" that I know of) while the 20 movie packs tend to hit Big Lots.
I recently purchased the "Sherlock Holmes" (TV series) set at Big Lots for $6 and the "Robin Hood", "Cisco Kid", and "Jack Benny" sets at WM for $5 each. All have very good video/audio considering the age and type program. Roughly VHS or a bit better in overall quality. I also purchased the "Beverly Hillbillies" set during the DD 67% off sale. The quality is as good or better than what I see on TV-Land. The release even has the original music and appears to be the unedited (non-syndicated) versions based on running length of the episodes.
I have picked up a few of the 20 packs at Big Lots over the past couple of years. Quality varies wildly from film to film, but it's expected considering these are PD titles and haven't been treated well.
Mill Creek has lists of included titles on most of these sets on their site and you can also find lists in reviews at amazon. Quite a few of the titles have never seen an "official" release and most never will. Overall, they are a good value for some "B" movie cheese fests. Suprisingly you'll also find a few real gems in these collections.
As others have mentioned, look at the 50 or 100 movie packs for better value as they include most, if not all, the films in the 20 movie packs. It can be a bit of a chore to weed out what 20 pack film is in which set, but it can be worth the effort depending on the genre and what you're after.
So far, I've not seen a watermark on any of the sets I own.
