I read the DVD review of Senior Skip Day at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=33277 and...just wanted to set a few things straight to those who've been emailing me.
In this one and Cattle Call (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=33361), the nudity in the screencap's was shown to give those of you into the movie a head's up. The censoring bars were added by me at the request of the powers that be and I did so willingly. I've received more emails about them than anything else of late that isn't porn related so I thought posting this might serve as an easier way to address it to those who've written.
Just as there are a LOT of review covers that some find offensive, NSFW, or un-family friendly here, the reviewing staff is trying to assist the forum moderators/admins by keeping the screen caps cleaned up. I'm not going to look at 1100+ titles to check past pictures but anything added since the stricter adherence to the long time rules started is fair game.
As far as adding pictures with bars over some of the most family friendly parts on a woman's body is concerned, the pictures still give an idea of what to expect from a movie. If you'd like to change that policy, by all means contact the folks at Internet Brands but having received emails from both sides of the issue that suggest I have some personal control over the issue, I can only say that I do not. Since when is this site Mr. Skin / Uncle Scoopy's? Do we really need to have pictures/proof of what nudity there is in certain titles? I would think the majority of people here would be against that. DVD Beaver was certainly criticised for his penchant of putting nudity screencaps in comparisons of different DVD editions.
I can see it might be necessary for some movies, but for a teen comedy? You just review a bad movie and then have random pictures of tits. I don't get it.

You have GOT to be kidding me. Are you so obsessed with porn and boobs that you are using any lame excuse you can to post pics wherever possible? Seriously, you think that people reading a review of National Lampoons Cattle Call can't figure out that there might be some boobs in there without you showing the goods?

I can see both sides of this.
On one hand, customers interested in that movie are going to be interested in the T&A factor it provides, and "edited" screenshots provide a good example of that.
On the other hand, it doesn't exactly make for a "family friendly" page, although I'm pretty sure if Don had posted several shots of a horror movie (i.e. blood & guts instead of T&A), we wouldn't be having this debate.
But that's an arguement for another time (and another thread!).

Exactly and showing them how little nudity is in the two movies, one of them plastering terms like "uncut & uncensored" all over the cover and advertising, might help them look for something they would prefer. That is what it's all about, yes?

The censored photos are more family friendly than what they would have been without any touching up, yes? As long as we are going to review "R" rated and unrated movies, there will be the off hand chance that a swear word slips in, a cover offends a prude, or the content isn't as bland as some would prefer. For the record, the covers to the two movies were a lot tamer than dozens that have been appearing on a regular rotation all over the website too. ;)

If I was "obsessed" with them, I would have offered up some shots of the cheerleaders in Minute Men, some of the incidental nudity found in Rescue Me S4, or shots from a number of other flicks that had plenty to offer. As it stands, the censored shots are important to describing exactly how limited the nudity in a movie suggesting it has a lot more to offer. Screen captures are a valid means to more fully describe a movie and if you don't like seeing edited pictures of content that might appeal to a heterosexual, by all means don't read the reviews in question. :D

Nudity is a staple of such movies and has been for decades. It's a major reason why some people like the genre and should be addressed in a comprehensive review. I'm curious what movies reviewed here would you find posting unedited nudity to be acceptable in though (since you brought it up).
