Ting Tings - We Started Nothing [LP/DL 05/20 : CD 06/02]

So 'Great DJ' has been rocking me for months now, and 'That's Not My Name' is nearly as good. [Also entered the UK singles charts at #1 last week - good job.] It's also nice to finally see an iTunes commercial with a song I like in it - 'Shut Up And Let Me Go' is all over the TV and it makes me smile every time I hear it.

The LP shipped from Insound yesterday so hopefully it shows up soon. I didn't realize how excited I was for this one until I didn't have it in my hands on release day. Am I the only one? Cuz I think it could easilly be Top 3 of the year from what I've heard so far.

I just gave it a listen. It kinda sounds like Gwen Stefani. It didn't do much for me.

Thanks OP. Never seen the iPod ad and wasn't aware of this until you started the thread. Me likes... quite a bit actually. A few songs are average, but there are a handful that are great. Another one of those fun albums to have in the car.

Shut Up & Let Me Go is great. The rest are kinda..."eh"...but that song is really catchy.

I got my copy on Friday in the mail and have been listening to it all weekend - I love LPs that come with download codes. Anyways, this is the perfect summer indie-pop album. 'Great DJ' is clearly the best thing on it, but the rest is a solid good time.

The album stormed the UK charts this week at number #1 in it's debut. I've liked everything I've heard from it so far. Sure, it's pure fluff. But it's also a lot of fun.

Just getting into these guys. Had heard the songs before but now I'm seeing these guys live for $15. So I'd figure I'd get the album.

Didn't they have a song a few years ago? Maybe 2005 or 2006? They sound so familiar, but I can't place where I heard them before..

I am surprised VH1 and US radio is just getting around to playing That's Not My Name, that song is so May 2008 to me, LOL.
