Anyone seen the horror film Frontiers?

There is a new floating banner on this site promoting the Lions gate DVD release of some French horror film called "Frontiers." Has anyone here actually seen this movie? Is it any good? I've never heard of the film, but that trailer makes it look like a Saw/Hostel type film.

I haven't seen the movie, but it does sound awfully familiar.

I can't remember where I heard about this movie.

On the off-chance that someone is actually interested in some genuine feedback in regard to the film...I thought FRONTIER(S) was very good and thoroughly entertaining. While there really is very little you haven't seen done in a number of other recent horror films from the U.S./U.K./France/Australia/etc., setting that aside, it is otherwise top-notch stuff. I thought the performances were excellent, the pace is quick, and it delivers the goods for those interested in on-screen carnage. For me, derivative as it might be, it ranks in the upper echelon when compared to others of its ilk.

It will be hard to trump the visceral appeal of "Inside" or the foreboding suspense of "Them". I enjoyed both of those movies immensely - as different as they are. Toss in "High Tension" and Noe's two masterpieces (in my mind, anyway) and I think France is proving to be THE new breeding ground for horror films and talented filmmakers in general.

That being said, I was looking forward to buying Frontier(s) this week. I don't expect it to quite live up to its "predecessors" but it looks like something I would enjoy. I've promised myself to not pick up the movie for a month or two - until it falls in price - due to these ads. I'm not sure if I can hold myself to it - maybe I'll have to hold myself off by getting The Orphanage in the meantime.

I liked it.

Not terribly original (if at all) and it borrows a lot of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Devils Rejects".

All that aside it's a fun movie if you are a horror fan. There are some pretty cool set pieces and a handful of very memorable horror moments.

Can't go wrong with a crazy family of Nazi Cannibals

I didn't care for it, but that genre is not really my cup of tea as they say. Overall I found it not very original, very predictable, and some of it just didn't make sense.

I watched this the other night. I thought it was pretty good, but it's basically a thinly-veiled French remake of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre with shades of Hostel thrown in. It's not particularly original, and after having just seen Inside it's not nearly as graphic as I expected it to be. I'd recommend it to fans of the genre, but just know that it isn't adding anything fresh to the scene.

Geez, I just watched this and I already forgot. I suffer from movie saturation sometimes.

Wait, I just asked my buddy who also watched it and he reminded me that
Spoiler:
they cut it off because she's supposed to marry the crazy German father-figure in the house and he thinks long, black hair is impure.

could someone give me some more info about this movie... preferably an expandable flash banner ad with auto play sound/video that's impossible to close once it's open?

thanks!

The film takes place during riots in France. The frontier they refer to in the movie means the safe zones outside of the combat area - a place of refuge from the violence.
