Please help me identify this movie!

Hello fellow DVDTalkers... need favor identifying a great movie I once saw.

1) Movie is in B&W.
2) Probably from the 40s or 50s.
3) It is about a lawyer defending a guy accused of murder.
4) He is trying to save him from the death penalty.
5) The lawyer is an older guy, kind of fat.
6) At the end, lawyer delivers possibly the greatest speech to the jury making his case against killing the murder suspect.

Please, I beg, if anyone knows the title to share it.

Thanks.

You described a few films from that period, my guess is your talking about "Compulsion" with Orson Welles.
