No Twister at Wal-mart, Sick of This Crap!!
I went to Walmart tonight looking forward to owning the new 2 disc Twister dvd. I could not find it anywhere. I asked the clerk, and he looked in his computer. No entry at all for Twister. He looked at me like I was an idiot.
What is the deal? Lately, Walmart has been a week or two behind with dvd releases. They never released Deadliest Catch S3 unlike previous seasons. There will be Blood didn't show up until a week later, and The Jeff and Matt Hardy dvd finally hit shelves this week.

The customer service in the Wal-mart electronics department is usually pretty awful. A lady who stocks the shelves every Tuesday is the only helpful, friendly person in the store and she doesn't work there.
Don't even bother wasting your time with the clerk. If they don't have it head over to another store like Best Buy or Future Shop and they'll probably have it.

I never go to my Walmart because their DVD section is absolutely abysmal. And wrestling DVDs are almost non-existent at my local stores (unless you like John Cena)
(It helps that Target, Circuit City, Costco, K-Mart -- whose selection and prices are actually better than I thought, and Best Buy are all closer)

I saved gas & called 2 Wal Marts, K Mart, Target, Circuit City, Sam's & Sears & not one got Twister in. Ended up ordering it at DD (where it was of course backordered). Apparently a lot of b&m's didn't get it in. Best Buy probably got it in but it's 40 miles away.

The Wal-Mart near where I wok is actually pretty good about getting out new releases. I haven't been there yet this week so I don't know if they got Twister in or not. The thing with Wal-Mart is that they all seriously vary by store. With Wal-Mart it's always a YMMV situation.

Our local wal-mart is also hit n miss as far as new releases go. It's a brand new super center and their electronics dept sucks - went there on tues. and no Twister.

You could always order it from the Warner Online Store. Put my "pre-order" in on Monday and it should be on my doorstep when I get home. The Blu Ray only cost $16.

insane dvd collectors aren't walmart's target demographic. box office and mass marketability are all they are concerned with.
that being said, ive been out there at midnight on a monday night more than once, as they're the only people who allow you to get the DVDs the second they're out and they ocassionally do have very good deals, even if its on the generic stuff.

So much for that state fo the art inventory system. And remember a decade or so ago when their whole marketing strategy was built around "American Made"? Now I'd guess almost all of their non-grocery items are foreign.

It really depends upon your local Wal-Mart. I've been to some that stock indie and classic films well below BBs or CCs prices, whereas others only have recent films that are barely marked down at all.

my local walmart did not have this either.. but have noticed over the past few months they have less and less dvds.. weather they new or old..
but have huge overflowing bins of $5 dvds.....
and there BR section is starting to grow.... i think be summers end thats all my local walmart will have is BR..
