Question for all music lovers...

Hey everyone,

I am working on a project and I need some help. What I am looking for are bands (and more specifically songs) that feature an instrument that may not be the prominent sound being projected, but without it, the song probably wouldn't be the same.

For example, I doubt Rosalita (Come Out Tonight) wouldn't really work as well without Clarence Clemmon's Sax playing in the background.

Any others you can suggest?

"Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys wouldn't be the same without the Theremin .

Foggy Mountain Breakdown without the banjo would be totally different.

the bass in New Years Day

i'll stick with it though.

Hey thanks for the suggestions...however...I think I am going to restate my question a little.

What are some instruments that are not the main riff of the song that are heard in the background...but without them something is lost.

I would go with the muted trumpet in FYC's Johnny Come Home:

...and the piano in Rock the Casbah:

Iteresting project. How about the bell in "Hells Bells". The could've opened that song just fine w/o it, but that would've been pretty lame.

The drums in Phil Collins' "I Don't Care Anymore."

From a more general perspective the koto in Hiroshima's music.
