So, ummmmm...apparently the next big thing at Marvel is going to be Marvel Apes, which is appears to just be Marvel Zombies but with monkeys. Has the "House of Ideas" officially run out of ideas?

And DC had already done a "superheroes-turned-ape" storyline back in 1999: JLApe (http://www.lethargiclad.com/gorilla/) (scroll down a bit to see relevant article).

Marvel Apes. Yes, Marvel. Indeed you do.

Can't say I'm interested in this in the slightest. The Cap as Gorilla looks pretty badass though.

Yeah, sounds more than a little dumb - but if this were a live-action movie, it'd pretty much be the greatest film ever made.

I actually think this looks like great fun. But I am a sucker for monkey-related comics and greatly enjoyed the over-the-top exploitation of Marvel Zombies. Heck, I still hope they come out with the Marvel Werewolves idea included at the end of Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness.

Still, I must admit that DC has more of a legitimate history of monkeys in their comics than Marvel.

This will probably come to a halt when Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson find out that Marvel turned Luke Cage into a monkey.

DC has always had the better Gorilla characters anyway: Grodd, Solovar, Monsieur Mallah...

the Nazi Vampire Gorilla who's currently hanging out with DC's Doctor Thirteen rocks!

Damn right he did...even if I had a hard time understanding what he was meant to be saying half the time.

My favorite Nazi gorilla is the one from Hellboy.

Yeah...but is he also a Vampire?
