These weekly threads are for the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.
These lists will likely be incomplete until Thursday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.

TWEC/FYE Cloverfield steelbook not sure what the price will be.... either $19.99 or $22.99? with $5 MIR and additional 10% off with Backstage pass. Also when pre-ordering, supposed to get a $2 coupon that can be used for any dvd $14.99+. ymmv whether they will accept it on a new movie.

i pre-order cloverfield steelbook at fye....before tax$21.59 after tax $22..89 for the steelbook...
if its anything less then its the regular dvd.... cause i asked a manger that i read on the net that some folks were only charged $19.99 before tax for the steelbook.. she said that is the regular dvd.....
its a cool looking case... and will look nice next to i am legend steelbook...lol
i got to see the steelbook as they had one for display nice case... worth paying a few extra for this ...

forgot to add. you can only pre-order this in the store there is no pre-order for this on line only way to get this steelbook is to pre-order at the store....
so if you bought it on line hoping for steelbook you wont get it...

This seems to be only cool exclusive.
The BB bonus disc worries me. The fact that it says "Comedian" so and so behind the scened...I don't know...I just feel like it would be nonsense...and the Target bonus disc seems to have the worst songs from the movie...so meh. This looks to be the best exclusive.

Just got back from FYE. Not only did I get the steel case and the rebate, they had a bin that said "Buy any DVD in the store and get one free DVD from this bin for free"
So I got Identity Special Edition.
Not a lot of great choices, but to me that is better than a bonus disc of "HUD" trying to be funny for a half hour.

Thanks for the heads up on the Free bin. Gonna check that out in the next hour when FYE opens to get my steelbook. Hope they have something decent even if i already have it, makes cheap gifts. :)

Well, I know its the Canadian BB ad, but a majoirty of the websites I've been on stating that BB was gonna have the disc had that artwork for the bonus disc.

heads up the steelbook from fye is very very limited only folks who pre-order were able to get one. other sites folks went in as soon as store opened and could not get one becuase they did not pre-order... so unless you pre-order the steel book looks like you are out of luck to get one

must be only certian stores are that way.. as i noticed some folks paying different prices then others..

Any store is going to be YMMV. There could be two FYEs in the same town, one gets 20 of the exclusive and they sell out on day one, while the other gets 10 and they still have them all a month later.

The Best Buy ad here in California shows the cardboard sleeve, not the CD envelope. Did anybody (other than Canada) get the sleeve shown in the ad?

the two BestBuys near me didn't get any copies with a bonus disc. were they marked by any exclusive stickers? could be another supply problem in my area.

seriously. there were about 50 (literally) copies of the steelbook throughout the store on shelves, behind the counter, in a cardboard stand. which is good for people that didn't pre-order. i was quite surprised though. it's the most i've seen of any of the TWEC exclusives.
no other exclusives this week at TWEC stores that i saw though.
also, no exclusives this week at wal-mart.
and the only exclusive this week at target was the cloverfield cd/dvd package. no other releases got anything special.
oh, and i can confirm the free $4.88 dvd at suncoast stores that someone mentioned earlier. they rang up the steelbook for $19.99, let me pick my free movie (crappy choices, but hey, it's free) and got it all squared away. awesome! you might have to mention it specifically though. there are signs by the new releases saying "free dvd when you buy new release" but i don't know if they'd actually make it a point to let you know.

the cloverfield bonus disc has a sticker on the package, and they in limited quantity...there were only two copies of the dvd that has the bonus disc left at my store around 10:30 this morning, the rest of the stock didn't have the bonus disc.
did anyone in the US bought the disc that has the outer sleeve, instead of the plain white paper sleeve, like the ones in the ad? or is it just a Canadian thing.

Best Buy in Texas had Cloverfield bonus disc all in paper sleeves. I decided not to get it after all. Got mine steelbook at FYE for $19.99, but did not know of the BOGO they were having. I think I will be making another trip with my receipt....

Borders has an exclusive book packaged on the back of the Cloverfield DVD on sale for $22.99; they also have DVDs without the book on sale for $19.99. The book is about 32 pages, the same length and width as the DVD and has photos from the movie along with some quotes.
If you can still get to a Borders today and are a Rewards member you can use the 40% off coupon on this to drop the price to $18 (40% off the list price of $30).

i think it's any TWEC. someone earlier mentioned it at an FYE store. my experience was suncoast. but yea, i think if i didn't mention it, then i would've never known. they didn't offer up a "hey, buy any new release and get a free dvd!" when they greeted me or anything.

The free movie deal at FYE worked for me. The sign actually says with the purchase of any regularly priced movie so new releases shouldn't count. The guy even told me he's not supposed to give it but he didn't seem to care too much. $5 rebate, free movie and a steelbook is just too good of a deal to pass up.

Since many people are getting the Cloverfield DVDs I figured I'd mention this here...
If you have the DVD you will notice a website called http://www.cloverfieldfiles.com Well that website has additional bonus video not on the Cloverfield DVD. There are puzzles that you need to figure out to unlock the video content.

Well I got the steelbook version today for 19.99, so someone must have been miss informed or something. Too bad that the steelbook and the regular are the same, nothing different what so ever. Except the fact that it's steelbook and the artwork is different. Honestly, I thought there would be a ton of special features, I mean it's a pretty innovative film.

I got one since I have been waiting for a Dark Angel to go cheap for a while and I love the Dark Shadows series.

I got one since I have been waiting for a Dark Angel to go cheap for a while and I love the Dark Shadows series.
Target has dozens, and Wal-Mart has hundreds of things like this. Movies or series that they have bundled together in some fashion. Not sure where they should be mentioned, or even if they should be.
I'll always list them if they come with some bonus not found otherwise.

Got the Cloverfield steelbook. Great packaging! Cloverfield kicked ass! We just watched it over here and it was excellent! Better than I expected. I heard alot of mixed reviews. I liked it better than "The Host". If you like Monster movies like King Kong, Alien/s, Godzilla, The Host, Jurassic Park (lol), then this is a must watch... but most of you probably know this already..:)
