Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (Nintendo DS)
A handful of new Square-Enix trademarks were discovered today.
One of them is Chapters of the Chosen.
Dragon Quest IV's Japanese subtitle is "Michibikareshi Monotachi," which loosely means "The Guided People." Now, the original US versions of the games dropped their subtitles but Dragon Quest IV was a special case in that it was famously divided into chapters and the final chapter carried the "Michibikareshi Monotachi" title. This was given the more apt localization of "The Chosen Ones" in the US version.
The Chosen Ones.
Dragon Quest IV is divided into Chapters.
1 + 1 = ?

For some perspective, the trademark for The World Ends With You was discovered on or around October 29th, 2007. The formal announcement from Square-Enix was on or around February 15th, 2008 for a release date of April 22nd, 2008. It's certainly not a definitive guideline but with Final Fantasy IV coming out in July, that should give Dragon Quest IV a comfortable Fall release.

Best. NES. RPG. My 2nd favorite RPG of all time...I've been forced to admit my fondness for Baldur's Gate II for the top spot
This means I have to get a DS lite before the fall. My wife has my fat DS even since hers got stolen.
Of course, I've been playing this emulated on the PSP (I do own the original cartridge, manual, strategy guide, map ) but an update is going to be awesome.
Pixy, I swiped your imageshack picture to post at LCVG. I'm excited

My wife is going to be SO happy! This is her favorite RPG of all time and she has played a crappy ROM so many times its ridiculous. Looks like this will be a nice little birthday gift for her if it comes out in August!

Another possible release date, conflicting with the previous one, August 28th, 2008.

Not that any more confirmation is needed, but this now has a rating in Germany.
Also, the first date I posted was moved up, it seems locked as the last week of August.

This has been the best gaming news I've gotten in years. I still have my original DQIV cart & map (map in terrible shape), and the original strategy guide/manual via ebay
I'm looking forward to a re-translation without all the 8-bit era Nintendo censoring. What I want to know is, are they doing any other tweaks, story-wise or gameplay wise (besides being able to control characters in Ch5)?

This is great news. All three are release-day buys for sure.
