Wii remote chargers
I'm new to the gaming section here and a very casual gamer. I hope this topic hasn't come up (I didn't see anything with a quick search, but that doesn't mean anything .
We see a lot of the "charging stations" for the Wii remotes, and are wondering if anyone else has one, and if they're worth it. Or should we just get rechargable batteries and something for them? I had rechargables years ago, and they didn't hold a charge very long. New tech may be better though.
Any thoughts?

They're not worth it. Grab yourself a real battery charger and grab a couple of packs of rechargeable AAs. They're cheaper and you can use them for anything, not just the Wii remotes. $20 at Targét and I bought Energizer charger and eight AAs.

Speaking of batteries and wiimotes... have they made a "wiimote glove" that allows you to change batteries easily? I haven't seen one yet, and I'm a bit perplexed... the thing drains batteries like crazy, and so I usually take the batteries out when I'm not using them. Those stinking covers are all difficult to put on and take off.

I'd say it all comes down to how much you use the Wii. If you use it all the time, splurge and get the charger. It is nice just dropping them on a charger and not messing with batteries(I have the 360 charging station, but use AAs in the Wii). If you use it infrequently just use some rechargeables.

I scored a deal on the Nyko charger, which works fine in my book. I did hear that it can burn out controllers by "overcharging" them, so I put it on a timer that it only charges them for two hours per day, and they seem fine.
But I also use rechargeable NiMH batteries for other stuff, and those are fine, too. I found that Energizer's rechargable 2500MH batteries lasted longer in my Xbox 360 controllers than the special Charge 'n Play pack does (from Microsoft).
