From thedigitalbits.com:

And we have a little new information as to the extras you can expect on the upcoming Blu-ray Disc release of Disney's Sleeping Beauty: 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition (due on 10/7, SRP $35.99). The 2-disc set will include a new 7.1 Disney Enhanced Home Theater audio mix, BD-Live online options (including chat, downloads, add-on shopping and the ability to create and swap custom video messages with your friends), the Maleficent's Challenge game and "living menus" that features a real-time castle environment that changes based on your location. Have the old 2 disc version, but I'll probably upgrade to the Blu-Ray as it's my favorite Disney movie.

Cant wait.....And this movie was made in widescreen right?

Because other Disney releases have had me confused as to which version is correct....Widescreen or full.

Check this out for a good explanation of Disney aspect ratios:

I was pretty excited for the Blu-ray of this, but the trailer for it on the Enchanted Blu-ray was soft and underwhelming. I hope it is not indicative of the final version's sharpness and picture quality.

Yeah this would be good for me to buy my first Blu-Ray with (along with Cars and Ratatouille).

is this the same one as featured on the Ratatouille disc - because I thought the opposite of the image - it looked bold, bright and sharp. I'm just hoping the Disney transferers don't F with the color scheme.

I'm not sure. I have yet to buy Ratatouille, but remember hearing good first impressions of the Sleeping Beauty trailer there. That's why I was surprised that the Enchanted trailer was a little lackluster.

Thanks....that helped a lot. But like in that link, there is still a lot of confusion about the ratios.

I found (and bought) the OOP 2-disc a couple weeks ago for $25 @ Second Spin. I'm perfectly happy with that one. The extras on this release don't seem awesome enough for me to bother upgrading.

are far as I can tell, all the extras have yet to be announced as the above news suggests: "TBA" I don't think it will be ported over from the last 2-disc edition, but the inclusion of the 1959 live action short 'Grand Canyon' remastered for HiDef would be an awesome extra

Re: Sleeping Beauty - 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition ---> 10/7/08

I know there was a special Best buy offer for online purchase of sleeping beauty, they offered an alarm clock + a lithograph if 2 more titles were bought-

the problem is I have missed this offer and never seen a picture of that lithograph, and would like to know if it's the same as Disney Store (but they are a 4-pack) or another one. COuls someone post a picture? Thanks
