Peckinpah's CONVOY aspect ratio??

Hello Friends!!!

I rented Peckinpah's CONVOY through Netflix. It was presented in 1.85 aspect ratio. However, the image looked kinda stretched to me as if the ratio should have been 2.35. I checked on a number of sites and some say it's 1.85 and others 2.35. Anyone know the correct one?

Thanx,
KC

Convoy was shot 2:35:1

Not sure about the dvd, it's actually the only Peckinpah film I don't own and if it is 1:85, I'm glad I don't.

DVD Compare Apparently, the only complete versions of the film on DVD are the German and Scandanavian releases, but according to the site, the American DVD is the correct aspect ratio, but non-anamorphic.

The U.S. dvd is a bootleg.

And I did a search and found this infamous thread from years ago which brings back memories and explains some of the aspect ratio issue with this dvd.

If you're multi-region enabled the German Kinowelt - here - has a beautiful anamorphic OAR transfer and is uncut.
