making backup copies of my retail dvd's

hey guys,
so i have been making a few backup copies of my retail dvd's but all of the dvd's that are over 4.35gb means i have to use dual layer discs. The problem starts though when im watching the movie and about halfway through the movie stutters or completely freezes. I'm assuming this is because the disc is changing layers. Is there a way to fix this? What do you guys use to burn dvd's? Thanks!

Yes, it is. (At least it is in the US, where DVDTalk is hosted.)
