I'll probably pick this up at a decent price. If it's anything like WB's other TV box sets, it should be around $20 a few months afterwards.

Everyone please take this opportunity to thank me.
After waiting for years, I finally bought a 'set' since I knew doing so, would result in a official release. 1 month later, and here we are!
*now all music better be intact. The final fight works perfectly with All the Things She Said.

Yay!! I have these on tape.. somewhere. Actually, I've never seen it (my wife taped them for me, then lost the tapes, then they were found.. then lost again)! I'm happy it's finally coming out. I don't think I'd have expected this to ever surface again.

Watching it again recently, I still don't see why it was cancelled. More action and (Earth 1/2 hybrid) mythology than Smallville. Yet, poof gone after 13. IMO it still holds up very well after a few years.
This and Witchblade on the same day, with Fastlane...I think my TV wishlist is done, save for Batman 66.

BOP was lousy when it aired and it'll be lousy on DVD.
The only good actor on the show was the Woman who played Barbara Gordon.
I did like episode where Babs is Batgirl again and battles Lady Shiva.

It does not end on a cliffhanger, the last episode wraps things nicely. Harley Quinn is a main character, and Shiva makes an appearance. Not a villain, but Black Canary is in one episode, and Alfred is a main character also, even picking up a rifle in last fight.
The prologue on the first episode with Batman, Batgirl, Joker, and Catwoman is great.

This show was a rarity in television. It was a show that did well and got cancelled primarily because it was bad. Granted, I know some people out there enjoyed it and more power to 'em. But, the WB network execs did not (from what I recall). I disliked the show, but thought it was insane that it was cancelled. This show did drop off after a huge premiere, but the numbers it was bringing in were still huge for the WB.
As a Batman fan, the only things that were worthwhile were some scenes in the first episode and Dina Meyer in a Batgirl costume.

If by "the website" you mean TVShowsOnDVD, then you're not clicking on the fact that we (well, I) didn't write any of the body of the text. That is Warner's press release that claims that stuff about "hit series". That hyperbole (if that's what you think it is) was written by the studio, not by us. We made no claims.
What I can confirm *IS* accurate is the part of the press release that I bolded, about how highly ranked the show is as being wanted for release among registered users of TVShowsOnDVD. In less than 24 hours that news post became the highest-read story at our site since the end of February, so there's certainly some interest in it out there!

I'm being picky, but is it bad that I'm kinda disapointed by the lack of extras in this release? Especially since I know that there is an alternate pilot and deleted scenes floating around...

dont get me wrong I liked the show, (some episodes were better than others by a long shot) but I dont get why if it was such a hit they nuked it after only 13 episodes

It definitely wasn't a hit series. That's just WB overselling this show for the DVD release.
Wasn't Mark Hamill in this show as the Joker?
Also, wasn't this show pulled before all 13 episodes aired?

as a "Special Event".
Yeah, it wasn't the greatest show, but I'll definitely be picking this up. Especially since last I heard, this was probably never going to get released. It'll be nice to replace my old tapes.

I have never seen the show and don't know anything about it, but DVDactive says 4:3 transfers and the show was supposedly shot and aired in Widescreen. Thought you guys would like to know.
