NBC green lights Knight Rider to series

It's finally official:

Here's an excerpt from the Variety article:

http://www.variety.com/VR1117983169.html

Many of the series in contention for the Peacock lineup boast a fantasy or action element, including one show just added to NBC's 2008-09 roster: "Knight Rider," the Doug Liman-produced actioner whose two-hour backdoor pilot snagged solid ratings in February. Project has been given an episodic order and has been mentioned as a contender for a Friday night timeslot.

Good. I enjoyed the pilot. Hopefully, the keep it cheesy and not take themselves too seriously.

Agreed. This was a no brainer considering that there is so little to "pilot" after the strike.

I enjoyed it, but I really hope every episode isn't a Ford commercial.

I guess one of the more important questions would be is Val Kilmer going to continue doing the voice of KITT

The pilot of KR was more entertaining than the first couple episodes of BW that I watched before dumping it, so I'll say hopefully.

If they can bring this back then why not revive Baywatch.

I think it is a very good fit for Fridays. Plus it will have low expectations there.

The original KITT was shown in the garage early in the pilot, right?

And the Hoff made an appearance at the end, right?

I smell team up down the line!!!

According to TV Guide it's actually going to be Wednesday's at 8pm. Much better timeslot IMO.

Gary Scott Thompson, the creator of Las Vegas, was also hired as head writer and show runner. Now I think the show is off to a good start.
