Any Way to Search HDTVs by size? (not screen)

I have an entertainment center that will fit 38.5 inches across any way to search by dimensions or should I just give it up and get a new entertainment center? Even though it's not the best it can hold a lot of stuff and it is still in great condition....

I'm not aware of one. However, I really think you're going to be limited to 32" screen or less. I'd go to a website and randomly choose 3 37" models and then do the comparision - I'm willing to bet all are over your size limit. You may even be pushing it with 32".

However, I know the Toshiba Regza (sp) line has a very thin bezzel. Not sure if they have lcds, but that might allow for a 37" (don't think they have a plasma that size).

Really? I think your numbers might be a bit off, or maybe mine are

This TV
Toshiba 40RF350U Super Narrow Bezel LCD TV - 40", 1080p, ATSC, NTSC, HDMI
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...8788&CatId=386
Unit Dimensions (WxHxD): 36.7" x 22.7" x 5.1"

would fit if all the inputs were not on the side of the Unit
and I found a sony 40" that was 1 inch over which is why I was asking about dimensions

I guess I am looking for the thinnest width/best 40" with backside inputs...

Entertainment center is 38.5 inches across, TVs are measured diagonally for screen size

Yeah, that's not right. Measurements for entertainment centers are across, while tvs are measured diagonally. I have a 60" Sony DLP in a 57" space on my entertainment center.

The only real way is to check the measurements on the websites (CC, BB, Onecall, Crutchfield, etc..)

Very well aware that screen size is measure diagonally while entertainment centers are measured across.

I suppose my rationale was the older Panasonic plasma (EDTV) and Dell LCD/TV (23") that I have been using. In both instances they have the speakers on the side and are rather chunky. I have a feeling if I measure them their width is very close to the "screen size".
