Ugh, I think I ruined the HDMI output on my Onkyo 605
I tried posting this on AVS but I didn't get any help so here goes:
Got a problem with my refurb 605. Apparently the HDMI output plug is loose. It looks like the edge of the inside of the plug is coming apart so I can't secure my cable to it anymore. I ordered "plug savers" from monoprice so the ports don't get jacked up anymore but I don't know if the new plugs are going to stay secured, is there anything I can do short of taping them to the back or something generic looking like that?
I'd really like to avoid shipping it back to Onkyo or voiding my warranty by opening it up to fix this so am I SOL?

Are you saying that they plug does not connect all the way? Do you still have a signal with the cable in place?
If you still have a warranty on the refurb, you should ship it back. Yes it is a pain but that is better than to wait until the warranty runs out.

It works if I wiggle the cord but it doesn't have a snug fit. I'm not sure if I'll be covered on my warranty if they consider the port pulling apart as abuse but I guess I don't have much of a choice. lol
