Prison Break renewed for 4th season
Even though Mr. Payroll posted this in an old Prison Break episode thread, it's probably not going to get much attention that way.
Yes, the show was renewed for season 4 and will re-locate production from Dallas to Los Angeles.

Fox has ordered a fourth season of Prison Break, to run for 22 to 23 episodes... and all the way to the Left Coast. Sources tell TVGuide.com the serialized thriller — which will pick up where the strike-shorted Season 3 left off, with Michael on the loose and seeking revenge against The Company — will relocate to Los Angeles. The show's production was based out of Texas.
Of course, your first thought will be: Hey, now Jack Bauer can lend a hand! Except he, as bad luck would have it, is stuck 3,000 miles away in D.C. for Season 7. — MWM

Last season was strange...first few episodes were terrible. Around episode 4 or so, things really started to pickup. But if they want to keep people on board, they will need to go back to what made s1 and s2 so great.

Sona was an absolute joke of a prison. Wearing their own clothes, having cell phone access and none of the prisoners were compelling characters. IMO, that was part of the reason that made season 3 so mediocre. I agree that things did pick up towards the middle and end of the season, but the writers almost blew it this season.

Please! Make it stop!
I loved season one. I left in the middle of season two. I only watched a couple of episodes of season 3 and then the season finale and just laughed at them.
My wife hasn't stopped watching the show, that's why I've been to watch some episodes. And yeah, she only watches the show because of Wentworth.

This is one of the shows that would greatly benefit from only having 13 episode seasons. Season one was its best, but even that was stretched unnaturally. And season 2 just dragged on, but edit out the filler and it would have made a really tight 13-ep season.

Season 3 was damn near perfect for me. I didn't care much for the second season, and had nearly lost interest in the show, but Sona was a very entertaining setting and I was hooked again.
However, I won't be satisfied until Michael has to escape from some sort of space prison (with aliens), or time travels to break people out of prisons from different eras.

If they radically change the story arc, while at the same time going after The Company, I think it could be a good Season 4. I actually think they need to get out of the prison setting and do something entirely different.
Remember, we love/like this show because it does stretch the limits of believability. But it is usually always entertaining.

They start shooting in May and it will probably premiere in late August or September.
