How I Met Your Mother - "Ten Sessions" - 3/24/2008
Summary: Ted pursues a woman named Stella, but only gets attention from her receptionist Abby.
Original Air Date: March 24th, 2008
8:30 PM on CBS
This is the much promoted episode due to tabloid fodder, hopefully it'll get a ratings boost. I can't wait! One of the best guest stars yet for the show!

I just hope the episode is good, because if they get new viewers in and it turns out to be a lesser episode the hype will backfire. But with
in there as well I have a hard time imagining how this could fail.

I didn't even notice that other person was in the picture when I saw it last week lol. She isn't a draw for me though. I'm actually watching because a) I watch the show anyway and b) I think the actual hyped guest star will be great -- she was hilarious on SNL.

That was just awful. The whole two minute date thing was impossible to believe (even with a co-operative cab driver) and not the slightest bit funny. Barney had some good lines, but that was about it. They didn't even write anything decent for Britney.
So, the daughter is supposed to be a decade older than the son? Or do they both have an older sister? How's that work?

Barney being sent to the corner of the bar was hilarious. Was Lily the one who told him to go there? It would make sense since she's a kindergarten teacher.
The 2-minute date at the end was awesome. Speed dating, but a whole lot more fun.
ETA: Kudos to Ted for wearing an Ohio State t-shirt.

Yeah, so I assume Chalke is the mother going by the St Pattys Day comment. The only funny part of the episode was Barney's fire / time out and Britney Spears. The two minute date was boring.

Has to be an older sister. 2 minute date was awesome. For all his screw ups, Ted can be a pimp!

I'm still not convinced that Sarah Chalke is the mother. The show is trying to throw us for a loop. So she went out on St. Patty's Day. So does everyone under the age of 30. Until I hear future Ted specifically say that someone is the mother I'm not buying into anything.
The episode itself was pretty solid. Not its funniest but a good story all around. Sarah Chalke was great, as expected. This show doesn't need to be hilarious to be good so I didn't mind the lack of laugh out loud moments.
Britney Spears was good. She played the character well and she looked pretty damn good doing it. Not 2000 Britney but better than 2006 Britney. She was perfect for the role, if she was in the Sarah Chalke role she would have sucked.

much better episode than last week's
With Britney's hype, sarah chalke's appeareance was a surprise for me...
Btw, scrubs is on its last season, and only got couple episodes left.... Sarah chalke might be a regular cast

It started out a little slow, but any episode making Ted look like a jackass in lust is okay by me. Loved the 'tache bet payoff.
Robin looked great with her hair parted from her left to right (rather than down the middle).

The flirting between Ted and Stella was pretty good, but the 2 minute date was silly.
Britney Spears was surprisingly funny in her role. Good to see that she looked healthy. I didn't like the quick end scene between her and Barney though. It seemed tacked-on, just for the sake of a dirty punchline.

What was the reference to the tattoo removal doctor in a past episode? I think that Ted something like he ended up going out with her, but it was a story for a different time (which I guess was last night). Did he mention anything else?

The episode was good. Not a classic HIMYM episode, but a good one. Britney was really good and Sarah too.
And I agree with Charlie Goose, the last scene between Barney and Britney didn't fit the rest of the episode, let's just pretend that it was a Barney's dream.

Didn't the promo for the show (that they have shown for the past 2 weeks) have a scene that wasn't in last night's episode? The part in the commercial shows Britney leaving the office and saying something about changing her facebook status

I noticed that the Facebook scene was missing as well.
Britney delivered 'Mother' to its highest rated episode ever according to the press reports, 6.3/10 ... 10.6 million viewers.
