This was at the Fountain Valley store this morning. There were plenty of copies. They are on a separate display area as you walk towards the registers.

if you check the ads, those dvds are all listed as $4.99. I hit up the anaheim frys just a while ago and they had some bins at the front of the store. They had them listed as $8.99 and up and had them mixed with $8.99 dvds (like midnight cowboy which i was hoping was $4.99)

anyway, all those listed above are $4.99 for the 2 disk versions. I picked up mag7, great escape, bridge too far, fish called wanda, ronin and platoon. Did not see spaceballs or some like it hot from the list.

in addition to laidbacklarkin's post, i looked up some ads online (of northern cal, though there shouldn't be that much difference) as suggested by smackattack and found the following others:

- Showgirls V.I.P. Edition w/ the shot glasses and other extra stuff (i have this already, but for 4.99 it would make a great gift for someone)
- Get Shorty
- Hannibal

I'll check my local store tomorrow morning. thanks for the heads up, guys.

Picked up Some Like It Hot, Moonstruck, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for 4.99 at the Fry's in San Diego.

You might want to double check some of those 8.99 DVDs at the register. The employees at my Fry's did a lousy job in putting these out. Some were in bins marked 8.99, but the exact same ones were also in a display marked 4.99. And the labels on the shelves were 4.99. Really haphazard. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the case at other stores.

As for the packging, there's nothing more than a cool, cardboard cover and the 2 discs they advertise.

On the Best Buy site, it looks like all the DVDs are the original versions, and not the 2-disc special editions. Do you guys know whether or not this is the case?

There is always a mismatch b/w the cover art and the version on sale. In the title description, most mention 'Collector's Edition' - so you could take a chance

I know that this is asking a lot, but if someone could pick me up The Princess Bride Dreaded Pirate's Edition, I would be most greatful. I'll pay shipping and give you a little extra as well.

Picked up Some Like it Hot for $4.99. A Fish Called Wanda was marked as $8.99 on the shelf, and rang up as such, but I purchased it anyways because its still a pretty good price.
