DVD Talk review of '42nd Street Forever Vol. 3: Exploitation Explosion'
I read Paul Mavis's DVD review of 42nd Street Forever Vol. 3: Exploitation Explosion at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=32027 and...
.....Every time I pick up some explotation goodie from the 70's, I'm aghast to find some mom+pop DVD transfer that has their company's LOGO (or initials), on the screen!
--like 'Something Weird' Video, which has the best roster of schlock, NOW ALWAYS has "SW" on the screen! -- I have been buying up "PRE-logo" VHS tapes published by 'Something Weird, --sometimes' from other collectors, and more often, from smaller independent dealers, --just so I can watch the film WITHOUT a Damn logo on the screen!
Hell-- that's why I don't watch TV anymore.....

That's why I don't buy SW titles. I've bought too many with the SW bug on the screen. I'm not a maniacal exploitation fan, and there are a lot of "third-tier" movies that I'd have a great time watching: old school choppy-socky Kung-Fu flicks, 50's SF, Serials, and B-westerns. While I'd probably enjoy a lot of SW movies, the watermark really bugs me so they've lost a sale.
