The Strangers -- Tyler, Speedman

Here is the link for the trailer of "The Strangers" starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman. The movie is supposed to be out in early 2008.

I believe that Tyler and Speedman were present during Comic Con promoting this movie.

I was at the comic con panel and from what they showed, I'm sitting there thinking.. didn't I just see this in Vacancy?

I'm not a Scott Speedman fan (he might the be the worst of the bad monosyllabic pretty boy generation of actors) but I'm a sucker for a thriller, so I'll probably check this out at a matinee or something.

Reminds me of Funny Games played straight w/o the over-the-top social commentary and arthouse mentality.

Speaking of Funny Games, odd that both that (US (I hear scene-for-scene, not surprising since its Mike H. redoing his own movie) remake w/ Naomi Watts and Tim Roth) and this will be out around the same time.

Intentional or not, this is identical to the French film Ils.

Ils (Them), the film that this is an "unofficial" remake of, was a masterpiece of tension and atmosphere, so I'm admittedly pretty skeptical of this version (even more so since this is the first thing the writer/director has done). Will give a chance, though.

I believe this is the first time a trailer made me jump. I'll see it.

Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler would probably be two of the last actors I would have ever thought could 'work' in a straight up horror/thriller, but they actually look pretty good.

These two films have nothing to do with each other. Just because two films share a similar premise doesn't make it an "unofficial remake"

That's like saying Friday the 13th is a remake of Bava's Bay of Blood.
Yes, they share similar aspects but that's it.

Loved the scene in the trailer when
Spoiler:
Liv is alone in the room and she has no idea someone is behind her.
It was reminiscent of something you'd see in the original Halloween, which is a good thing IMO.

Although I'm a little leery of the two leads, I've gotta say this trailer looked creepy as hell. I caught it in HD last night on Universal HD and it really looked like it had potential. I have a bad feeling it's not as good as I'd want it to be, but I'll see this in theaters as long as it gets decent reviews.

This looks creepy as hell...Haven't been scared by a movie in a long, long time. Hopefully this will change that.

Btw, does anyone know what song is playing on the record player? Theres something so creepy about old records playing in scary movies.

God, that part where one of the "strangers" pops up in the living room was freaky as hell. This looks pretty good. I hope it does well, as I'm a fan of both Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, both who should be in more movies IMO.

Looks okay, I liked Speedman in Weirdsville and Liv Tyler seems to be making 2008 her attempt at making it big.

It was a typo, but I'm sure that wasn't tough to figure out.

Saw this trailered at Doomsday Friday night. I thought the trailer was pretty well done, I'm not so sure about the film itself. Atleast it's R-rated, I'm not a big fan of PG-13 "horror" flicks.

I'm not sure how accurate the info is, but supposedly this movie was written several years before Ils even went into production.

Trailer has me pretty excited to see this. Although I thought the 30 Days of Night trailer was pretty good too and that turned out to be pretty much crap.
