So, what do you do with all that extra non-DVD stuff? Do you wear them? Put them on your dog? What?

The only "box kit" I've ever bought was the Lord Of The Rings (Fellowship) box that came with bookends... because I knew I would use them as BOOKENDS to hold up the rest of my LOTR disks once I collected them all, which I did, and they are.

Oh, I also bought the Potter HD-DVD set, but only because it was cheaper to buy all 5 movies from Barnes & Noble on pre-order with 50% off PLUS 10% membership discount for net of ~$50 rather than spend $17-20 apiece times 5. I repackaged the HD-DVDs into their own cases, gave the box to my son, gave the bookmarks to my wife, and threw away all the extra doo-dads.

It's still YMMV. I saw Pirates, Seinfeld, Little Mermaid, Shrek, and Harry Potter and only Little Mermaid, Shrek and Harry Potter were on sale and marked as such on the shelf, not on the sticker.

Picked up HP and I did bring Pirates and Seinfeld up to the register to check. Almost offered to put those two back, Seinfeld was really heavy and I was holding it for awhile looking around for 300 and V...almost offered....

Go to Best Buy, find the kiosk, look up the product. This is what I did, and it was listed at 12.99. You order it, and I had to have it shipped, since that was the only option availible. It's 2 dollars shipping. You're still saving a ton of money.

Kiosk is the software installed on computers inside Best Buy.

Simply use any one of the computer systems available inside Best Buy. Place an in-store pickup order for your desired DVD as you would had you been at home. Best Buy's computer-kiosk price should be the same as what you'd pay in store. If the in-store pickup is not available, use it as an immediate pricing guide/price match if there are any discrepancies during checkout.

Often you don't need to place an order through Kiosk as the price should be the same found as what you'd pay during checkout.

I picked up the Harry Potter gift set, 2 of the Transformers sets (one for me and one for my sister for her wedding) and 2 of the Captain Teague action figures marked all they way down to $4.99!

I also picked up Veronica Mars S3 and Gilmore Girls S7 and the total savings was $172!

Best buy in evansville IN had the Alien PRedator set for 99 and the Little mermaid and shrek 3 sets for 12 something. The little mermaid and shrek sets are up front near the registers and not on the shelves

Since there are still quite a few people that are unclear about this whole customer kiosk business with this promotion. Here is a brief overview.

1) Jot down the SKUs listed of the product(s) that you want from the 1st post.

2) Go to your local store.

3) Find a customer kiosk.
New stores / recently remodeled stores: There should be 2 kiosks (1 by the DVD/Hi-Def section & 1 by music section). They are located at end of the aisles. They are impossible to miss.
Remodeled stores (within the last year or so): Similar setup as above, but they don't have a big sign of Customer Kiosk. They may have 1 or 2 kiosks.
The rest: They can be not as obvious. These stores often still have the employee exclusive kiosk/station. They can have as few as 1 kiosk.
4) The kiosk screen may vary depending on how new your local store is. You can either enter the SKU or the product title on the search box from the main screen or go directly to BestBuy.com.

5) Find out if the promotion is running in your area by using the kiosk. Sometimes there will be regional price / promotion variations in certain areas around the country. Keep mind this is a promotion, so the sale prices shouldn't be on the pricing label. And as far as I know, this is a sales promotion and not a permanent price change. This is their last effort to flush out these remaining gift sets.

7) There is also a feature that lets you check the on-hand stock (if the product is still listed on BestBuy.com) for your local and surrounding stores. As far as I know, this on-hand stock indicates live / up-to-date information (provided that the counts are not off to begin with). You can always utilize this method to perform price checks without going to the registers.

8) Be sure to check with an Best Buy employee if the shelf is empty and the kiosk indicates there is an abundance of the desired product. Sometimes they stock overstocked products in their receiving area and they don't restock them in a timely fashion.

They also had lots of the wrestling sets, Gantz (sp?; anime) sets where the DVDs come in a black ball, Pirates w/the figure, and many of the others mentioned in this thread. The only ones I actually scanned for the price were the ones I bought, so I can't tell you how much the others were discounted.

The sets are along the top of the new releases/top sellers rack; in the end cap at the end of that rack; and in their respective sections on the shelves.

I went into local BB(Conway,Arkansas) the other day and they had a ton of the Bourne Ultimatum's for 14.99(not the sale price when they first come out,because I paid I think 15.99 after the Mastercard discount),also all the Fox steelbooks,Die Hard 1-3,Castaway,Day After Tomorrow,Man On Fire,etc. were all marked down to 14.99,they were 19.99,the Grindhouse BB exclusives were marked down to 19.99 from 24.99 or whatever they were.

I don't think the replacement is going to be any better than the last one. These were probably returned in the first place because of damage and are likely the only ones left. It's not like they made any more, they're just clearancing out the ones they have left, which I assume isn't that many. At this point in time you're basically scrapping the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality.

Yes, exactly a good example, only it was a few more places on the front cover of box, not that just one part. And it's not a sticker that you can just remove the glue residue and be done. :( It's permanently damaged on the box... Sorry if I sound picky, just like something nice for a "collector" edition.

The mask and the DVD itself aren't damaged from the poor shipping. Only the outer box suffers any damage. The mask itself is a hard plastic about 1mm in thickness and the box it is in has a velvet fuzz lining. Also, the mask has a short string in the back similar to a shoelace fabric but softer. It has painted very clear and imo a decent replica of the mask worn in the movie. Of course, I'm sure there are better full size versions out there for the avid collector. The size is 4" high x 3" width.

It is 100X better than the measly mask that HP5 Order of the Phoenix gift set had, which was cheap smelly plastic and super tiny.

I've also noticed that BB sometimes sends its items in a bubble envelope and sometimes in a Box with paper similar to brown paper bags for cushioning. And they tend to go back and forth between using UPS or USPS. UPS is much faster (at least for me) and USPS takes FOREVER!

You can always ask a BB assoc to price check for you. I have seen in a few stores "sale tags" announcing the sale price but each store ymmv. Nonetheless, all stores should have the sale price ring up when you pay.
